Step one: quit thinking of them as aliens.

You can think of people as aliens if you choose to. However, that is actually the word that has been chosen to indicate that you do not wish for contact, or perhaps you are engaging in some kind of advanced layered sarcasm. Also, alien is a meaningful term that describes terrestrials, some of which have never even set foot in a car, let alone an aerial vehicle. You may think that the context of the situation implies that alien refers to people from space, but actually no it doesn't.

I recommend space people, or speople.

Step two: get on Google Earth, zoom out so you can see the whole Earth, and zoom into your location. Practice this zoom in, so that even after you're finished looking at Google Earth, you will be sort of able to see it in your mind's eye, what it looks like to zoom into your desired contact location. Doesn't matter if it's fuzzy. So long as the thought of making contact with speople triggers that memory, and causes you to visualize that zoom down to your location on Earth, any speople with rudimentary telepathic technology will be able to hone in on that signal.

Step three: get a notebook, and make a drawing. Use stick figures if you have to. Draw your self sitting on a hill, with a UFO or some thing in the sky observing you. Make sure to draw the notebook *in* the picture you drew. Like, recursion, get it? And then you do the thing that you drew in the notebook, which is to sit on a hill, with the notebook layed out in front of you, and wait for a UFO to appear like you drew it.

If you don't understand step three, consider pic related. It's an anime girl browsing 4chan, and the thread she is browsing has a post which contains the image of her self. Yours doesn't need to be that detailed, but so long as it has this sort of artistic recursion, it will get the point across that you are ready to establish contact. It's a sort of spiritual equivalent to the Turing test.

Step one is kind of a pain. That isn't what people mean when they think about aliens. I do hear a hint of linguistic prescriptivism in "chosen to indicate", and I still have some sympathy for that.

Step two is pretty epic. I'm going to have to try that. It sounds, at the least, like a fun thing to do.

Step three is fascinatingly bizarre. Artistically represented recursion as a spiritual requirement of contact? I'm going to have to think about why a culture would want that, and how I could represent recursion within my "I struggled not to lose marks in geometry class" drawing skills.
