So /x/, I'd like some recommendations on games, movies, and books/authors that follow the principles of true cosmic horror.

Finish reading all of Ito first dude if you haven't read Uzumaki you need to
>>19212238
I own the physical book.

Read Berserk if you haven't
Nah, man. Junji Ito is a better writer.

Idk about that dude, plus how could you even know when you're reading translations. Lovecraft as BY FAR the better wordsmith but Ito has more daring and experimental ideas.
Sorry I don't really have any suggestions because I'm in the same boat OP, read most of both of their works and still hungry for more.
The Sphere by Crichton is pretty good but doesnt really go anywhere near as crazy as Ito still has some crazy stuff go on though

For video games, try "Bloodborne" and "Darkest Dungeon". That shit is Lovecraft af
>>19212751
Bloodborne best game of all time, no question

PMMM is great cosmic horror, Kyubey could even be Nyarlathotep
Bokurano is probably the most disturbing cosmic horror, but not necessarily the best. Perfect mixture of tear jerker & nightmare fuel, books are far superior to the show
ITT: people who have never read HPL
Or books in general

Books are a man-made creation, they're not divine knowledge by any stretch of the imagination. You wont suffer in life if you don't read some idiot's nonsense.

>Lovecraft as BY FAR the better wordsmith
Yeah, sure, he really knew how to bloat a story with excessive words so he could get paid more.
Get paid more? He died in poverty and was poor his whole life...

I've read over 10,000 books and they're all carefully alphabetized and organized into category. Almost 1000 of these are non-fiction biographical types. Don't try to use books and reading as a way to be "special" or you'll miss the whole point.
t. First responder
he does "small innocent quirks turning into full-on horror" so well
the Fuan no tane mangas were also good
