Not really, except for biblical references and using the major arcana as in-game items. The story is technically about religious fanaticism, but you barely see any story.

SOMA:
It isn't really paranormal but its a pretty good horror game and very existential. Never finished but but from what I played I enjoyed.

Night in the Woods:
Tumblr might have already ruined it for you, but I really think that this game still deserves a lot of credit. It goes to some really weird places. [spoiler]it gets a bit Lovecraftian.[/spoiler]
