I'm out here trying to make "eerie" videos. ARG or not, I'm trying to just make some footage that can make a person feel a little off. I ain't know what to do, really. I'm in the dark. I need some criticism. If anyone on /x/ would be willing to help me out, I'll drop a link.

Audio is a big part of it. You can pitch shift someone's voice lower and slower, add in samples of people crying, the sound of flies buzzing, general harsh noise stuff and ominous sounding synths.
You could get a lot of inspiration from Lustmord's Heresy and Mortaur's Horror Vacui. And also spooky videos on yt. As far as visual effects, i think ritualistic stuff is pretty spooky when done right
You can start by killing yourself and recording that.

Audio is absolutely huge. You wouldn't think it, but uncomfortable silence while staring at something unsettling will make people assume some scary shit is about to happen. Audio is so important when doing something "eerie."

I've messed around with some pitch shifting and things of that nature. I'm not sure why I haven't thought of whole concept of harsh noises. Thanks for the recommendations!

I have a photo of when I shot myself, but no videos, and fortunately I'm an in a right mind as of late so no suicide.
Something major I'm trying to do is to insert as much acting as I can. It's fun being purposefully unsettling for the camera. I try to avoid the who "ToTheArk" style of video making.
I'm gonna keep the thread alive, cause why not.
