Beyond the fourth material state of plasma exists what is known as the sphere of influence an abstract threshold which houses the entirety of our perceivable “hologram” universe and is believed to account for much of the phenomena which man deems paranormal. It is here beyond the proverbial “veil” that it was believed by our oldest civilizations (and their teachers from the stars) that life as we know it began, the byproduct of unfathomable concepts far older than even God himself. It was also believed that flesh, the vehicle of life, was a medium between this false reality and the unknowable beyond; that flesh itself was the “language” of the gods, that our blood and humors were their ink and our DNA their alphabet... that with but a spoken word living flesh may take whatever form the old ones speak and that death was nothing more than a sentence unfinished...
Why, one could even argue that our existence is little more than some-THING else's fiction which by some fluke of the absurd became aware of itself forever incapable of peering beyond our own narrative. But pray, pray little man, that you never meet the authors of this story or that they ever remember having written it, for it is only by the grace of being forgotten that we are still permitted to exist.
And within this reality, forgotten by our creators, we should also pray we never run into the "stories" of other "authors".

Far greater civilizations and races than ourselves have come learn of the secret of what lies beyond this "veil" and each was horrified by what awaited them at this the final "filter". Consciousness as we know it cannot exist beyond our "hologram" physical reality so only madness awaits us in the great beyond: madness in absolute truth, truth in absolute beauty, a truth ever changing and unquantifiable.
Like a video game programmer gazing upon his creation on a screen so to do these eldritch entities observe our infinite variable realities from higher dimensions beyond understanding or classification.
