Honestly, I doubt the negative energy had anything to do with the divination. You're delving into things you're very clearly scared of, and that fear has a way of calling negativity your way like nothing else.
You shouldn't do a banishing ritual or any kind of ritual for that matter, because if you're scared of divination you're likely scared of magic, and if that's the case you shouldn't be practicing it.
From my understanding you're Christian, so ask a priest to bless you and your home.
