I heard a theory not too long ago that says the Christian God Yahweh is actually from the ancient near east pantheon and systematically killed off the rest and demonized them.
Anyone know of this? Can anyone give me any red pills of this?

I mean. Yeah. There is an entire religious group (full of retards) based on that idea.

Yahweh is also mentioned by other names (including El and Yahweh) in various Semitic Pagan religions. Including Canaanite mythology. Arguably. People will deny it or scream anout how true it is. But basically, Yahweh was most likely one of Baal's siblings.

Yahweh was a minor sky/thunder god, and also the patron god of the Jewish people. El/Elohim was the supreme god of the Canaanite pantheon. Generally in the Old Testament when they mention "God" or "most high" they are referring to El, and when they mention the LORD they are referring to Yahweh. At some point they were combined into the same being however. Sometimes in Catholic and Mormon theologies El is said to be the Father, while Yahweh represents the Son. God's wife (probably the Canaanite goddess Asherah) is also briefly mentioned in the Old Testament. At one point Jewish people are making cakes to honor the "heavenly mother," but God tells them not to.

Well, he is from that pantheon. That is where Yahweh came from for a fact. But I don't think he killed or did anything. People were able to further and further apply powers to him until by the time of the Babylonian exile he wasn't just a god and god of the Jews, but god of everything and all powerful and all this other shit.

And eventually we got to the Yahweh we have today where he's an all powerful and all knowing god who created everything and is god of everything/everyone.

In the beginning Yahweh wasn't even close to that.

96:1.3.1. Yahweh was the god of the southern Palestinian tribes, who associated this concept of deity with Mount Horeb, the Sinai volcano. Yahweh was merely one of the hundreds and thousands of nature gods which held the attention and claimed the worship of the Semitic tribes and peoples.
96:1.4.2. El Elyon. For centuries after Melchizedek's sojourn at Salem his doctrine of Deity persisted in various versions but was generally connoted by the term El Elyon, the Most High God of heaven. Many Semites, including the immediate descendants of Abraham, at various times worshiped both Yahweh and El Elyon.
96:1.5.3. El Shaddai. It is difficult to explain what El Shaddai stood for. This idea of God was a composite derived from the teachings of Amenemope's Book of Wisdom modified by Ikhnaton's doctrine of Aton and further influenced by Melchizedek's teachings embodied in the concept of El Elyon. But as the concept of El Shaddai permeated the Hebrew mind, it became thoroughly colored with the Yahweh beliefs of the desert.

97:0.1.THE spiritual leaders of the Hebrews did what no others before them had ever succeeded in doing—they deanthropomorphized their God concept without converting it into an abstraction of Deity comprehensible only to philosophers. Even common people were able to regard the matured concept of Yahweh as a Father, if not of the individual, at least of the race.
97:0.2.The concept of the personality of God, while clearly taught at Salem in the days of Melchizedek, was vague and hazy at the time of the flight from Egypt and only gradually evolved in the Hebraic mind from generation to generation in response to the teaching of the spiritual leaders. The perception of Yahweh's personality was much more continuous in its progressive evolution than was that of many other of the Deity attributes. From Moses to Malachi there occurred an almost unbroken ideational growth of the personality of God in the Hebrew mind, and this concept was eventually heightened and glorified by the teachings of Jesus about the Father in heaven.

Hi OP. The Abrahamic god is actually Aten, who was briefly enshrined as the sole god of Egypt during the reign of Akhenaten. When Akhenaten died and the priest caste purged his religion many of his adherents fled and became the Israelites.

It's more like the believers did that. He was likely from the ancient Canaanite pantheon. Specifically a combination of Yahweh and the chief god, El. (If Yahweh didn't already refer to El himself.)

Consider all the names that use "El" to mean "God." Michael, Rachael, Ezekiel, Israel, Emmanuel... and that's not even counting the word Elohim itself used in the texts. That's him.

>>19152875
And that's fucking absurd. There is next to no relation between Yahweh and the sun in Hebrew mythology. Of all the elements they seem to have adopted from Egypt, Babylon, and other surrounding cultures... why would they lose the Sun Disc itself?

True.

Plus his brother was Thutmoses.

Known to Jew and Christian as Moses.

Exiled from Egypt and along with his bro pushed the concept of monotheism to the world.

Ahkenaten was an alien.

His lineage was destroyed and hidden to keep this a secret.

That's why Tutankhamens tomb was not discovered for so long. It isn't in The Valley of the kings where a true pharaoh should be.

That's not really a theory. There were numerous tribes of ancient Levant. Each tribe has it's own patreon diety. They always went to war with each other, killing each other off. When Babylon conquered the Levant they only too slaves from one tribe and wiped out the rest. When Babylon collapsed the tribe went back, that tribe was the one worshipping a diety called Yahweh.

There are plenty of clues left in the Bible itself. In the ten commandments, god says that he's jealous of other gods, and you can't worship other gods more than you worship him. All that crap about Moloch and Ba'al and golden calves are the gods of other tribes that "the" israelites wiped out. In the Nag Hammadi texts and dead sea scrolls and other works, there's a lot more of that kind of thing. There's even a story about Yahweh having a goddess wife.
