I'll accept the chip on a few conditions.

One, I no longer see a rhyme or reason to this race we all run; if humanity doesn't seem to be going anywhere, if we've plateaued for now and don't seem to be reaching for anything else beyond our inevitably anthropocentric lives, and there isn't even a faint glimmer of "good" to "lead us" from wasting away in mindless delusion? Then the chip is the only way forwards. The chip is the only way I will sate this bemused, precious lie I've been told, that all of mankind had uttered in writing since. This sense, this sentiment that we've gone so far to play society for some greater purpose, that every body against the foundation, every misstep, every fool who mindlessly abused, every sage who adamantly accused was for something. I've gone as far as current science has lead me. I'm one man, born yesterday. Discoveries, nuances, models, theorems, hypotheses, all of it has existed several times over the time I would even think was large. That's all I have to make reference to.
