I've never had mental illness
I am 19 years old
I have not used any drugs for months
I am seriously not fucking larping

What happened: I was listening to a podcast and someone said the phrase "woman in a polka dot dress." When the phrase was said I shivered and got a weird uncomfortable buzz in my head and a wave of panic set in. I haven't heard the phrase since then but even thinking (or reading the phrase) makes me shiver a bit.

Part of me wants to put a loop of this phrase and try to enter a trance or something but it probably isn't a good idea.

Please help does anyone know what this could be about?

Picture not related I never browse x

Subliminal messages, neurolinguistic programming, 'woman in a polka dot dress' is the trigger phrase.

hey OP how's this picture make you feel?

also you should read this wikipedia article:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_F._Kennedy_assassination_conspiracy_theories

maybe you were involved in the RFK assassination in a previous life.
>>
>>19130098
>woman in a polka dot dress
Subconscious programming used on the killer of Robert F. Kennedy. Supposedly he saw a woman like that which triggered his hypnotist induced program to perform murder and not be able to remember it.
>>
also OP I want to add that you could be having a reaction to something that was said a few minutes before that, and that it could've taken a couple minutes to sink in.

or maybe you were molested by a babysitter in a polka dot dress and you repressed it. who knows?
>>
>>19130154
I shit you not I cant look at it for longer than 5 seconds. Im honestly getting a little worried

Part of me just wants to force myself to listen to the phrase and look at the picture and prove that its just all in my head but I am really scared to try
>>
>>19130162
take some deep breaths OP. whatever it is, it can't actually hurt you.

what's the topic of the podcast?
>>
There, I broke your curse
>>
>>19130164
Paranormies.
I was only half listening to it bc I was playing vidya. They were talking about some creepy youtube videos for pedos or something like when one of them said it

Im not even sure of the context of the phrase it just stuck out to me
>>
>>19130098
The conspiracy theories relating to the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy, a United States Senator and brother of assassinated President John F. Kennedy, relate to non-standard accounts of the assassination that took place shortly after midnight on June 5, 1968, in Los Angeles, California. Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated during celebrations of his successful campaign in the Californian primary elections while seeking the Democratic nomination for U.S. president.

The perpetrator was a 24-year-old Palestinian immigrant named Sirhan Sirhan, who remains incarcerated for the crime as of May 2017. However, as with his brother's death, Robert Kennedy's assassination and the circumstances surrounding it have spawned various conspiracy theories, particularly regarding the existence of a supposed second gunman.[1]

Such theories have also centered on the alleged presence of a woman wearing a polka dot dress claiming responsibility for the crime and the purported involvement of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Many of these theories were examined during an investigation ordered by the United States Senate, and were judged to be erroneous by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which investigated on the Senate's behalf.

is it possible that you heard or read something about the RFK assassination a while back? maybe you unconsciously remembered the bit about the killer's hypnotic trigger like >>19130159 was talking about, and your mind just kinda freaked out about it?

But do not worry.

We have a cure. All you have to do is read this comic in it's entirety.

This thread is also a kind of weird synchronicity for me because within the last few days I also heard someone on the radio say a similar phrase. Either you were listening to the same show as me (do you live in Australia?) or it was a phrase that was intended to be spoken on multiple radio shows.

I can't understand what anyone could enjoy about comics - please help me to understand. How many seconds do you usually spend looking at a panel? Do you read the text first or look at the image? How do you cope with the extremely slow pacing? Am I supposed to be understanding all of this technobabble? Is this a good example of a good comic? If not, what is?

This is a Grant Morrison comic about extremely complicated ideas involving the state of the comics industry and also the way stories and ideas themselves can, in fact, be considered "alive" in the classical sense

I don't understand the ideas presented - the whole post-apocalyptic town policed by children just made absolutely no sense - it felt like unnecessary filler. The only idea that I will take away is the idea of a material that is whatever you believe it to be, which is pretty neat desu.

You need to pick comics with non-comic readers in mind. You basically only managed to kill a thread with a flood of images that only one person tried to read, and hated. Your comic sucked, /co/ckhead.

Sounds like you have repressed trauma my dude, and the image and words are just triggering them. While the rfk theory is definitely "fantastic" you definitely just need to chill out for a bit and if/when you can see a therapist so you can delve into these issues and really find the root and hopefully find a way to deal with it healthily.

Next time you try this, maybe try to not ruin someone else's thread to share your comic. I like it, I get it, I think it's neat. That does not mean you should continue. Again, if you do make your own thread instead of sending a beginner LARPer trying out his first "somewhat mundane paranormal" thread and you come in here shitting it up with unrelated (mostly, I mean I get the connection, but it is obscure) comics that you simply want to share somewhere other than where people share comic story times. Even the Junji Ito posters on /x/ make their own threads.
