All this talk about "real vampires are like..." but ive learned there's actually several different kinds.

I know Somebody, im in telepathic contact with her sometimes, who is what we'd consider a real vamp.

She has fangs, they are retractable, they are long. She does need blood, but not that often, and she tends to be more of a Psychic Vamp anyway (drawing energy by other methods than blood).

The blood itself is irrelevant, the vampire feeds on everything associated with the person the blood came from. Their essence.

She has various abilities but really it comes down to Sorcery she's learned over the (many) years.

The main change that being a Vampire does to you is you sorta get a "soul vision" and can see the anatomy of other people's souls. It also allows you to stretch your limits physically.

It has some downsides, energy dependence being one of them, she does need actual human blood from time to time but its not a nightly or weekly thing (maybe 3 weeks?).

She was my 1st Girlfriend (dumped me, intentionally and planned). But I ran into her again a few months ago and she looks the same, she avoided me enough that I couldnt talk to her face to face but I saw her.

I also ran into her the first time when I was 11 and only remembered this fact a few years ago. She caused me to remember this.

Many thousands of years ago before the genetic changes came to humans on earth to make them short lived, she used her magic to curse/turn herself into a vampire so she could survive the many years to come without (being exposed to the problems that humans would have to endure). She is older than the pyramids.

She gave me and my friend the mental note that living forever isnt all its cracked up to be.

I cant say anything else more about her or she might get pissed about people from online trying to do readings about her and check it out.

The point would be that you must make a new cut every time you want to do such a spell. As opposed to draining a small amount of blood and trying to preserve and reuse the same batch. I could just imagine many people exploring the occult may be hesitant to cut themselves every time they want to do such a spell. They must do it, though.
