How could one follow Hermeticism and still be an atheist? Have a friend who is really into Hermetic stuff but denies anything related to God or rebirth or anything remotely spiritual. Doesn't believing in the All imply some sort of creationism?

He's lying to himself.
Anyway Hail Eris.
>hermeticism
>no god
>no rebirth
>no spiritual forces
In what meaningful sense is that Hermeticism?

It kinda does, but not from Frank's perspective. The guy who is impossible to satisfy, who keeps asking questions, doesn't know when enough's enough. He's not lying, he just refuses to play himself.
Hermeticism implies magic ánd dispel magic. To play others and to play yourself. When you're not conscious of doing both, you bind yourself to your own perspective more and more. You start seeing a bright fire and/or an endless void but lose sight of the garden in between.

There is not just two or three options for the nature of the "God".

If one is "following" something, it doesn't have to mean one has to believe and follow blindly 100%. It's all written and produced by man and ever-evolving.
Blindness=sheep
And that then again doesn't mean there isn't some truths to follow.
Why do people want things to be black/white?

I will mantle the demiurge and go from there.
>>19107350
Well, not necessarily. The All could simply be the universe, and God a metaphor for the regular processes of nature.

OP here. He's more of a scientific guy you know. Feels like all of that could be explained with science. Says he's even done astral projection, but denies that as some sort of proof of a spirit, just saying that it's all in your head.

Also I kind of have that feeling to about God. Small world huh

Let him lie himself until he finds what shouldn't be seen in an Astral proyection.
Sciencefags are like that, I've been one.
