Anyone here remember that guy who posted here a few years back about his fucked up experiences while working for the online world called habbo?

quick rundown:
>anon works for an online game called habbo for over ten years
>in his time he experiences loads of fucked up things
>pedo coverups
>stalkers coming to his house
>accounts of dead people coming online
>online cults
>loads of other fucked up things.

I've been looking for the caps of those threads for a few weeks now but I can't find them anywhere. Someone here must remember this, right?
>>
I remember the great Habbo raid on /b/. Many lulz were had. There, I unlocked eternal trolling technologies used by /b/tards in the past.

That's only one of them. Same guy has posted multiple threads over the course of about two years.
>>
I actually have a short experience to share that happened extremely recently. I visited my old ass account (I check up on it every few years or so for shits and giggles)
>browse rooms and talk to people
>meet this guy, seems edgy but nice
>start talking over text instead of in-game
>we get friendly and talk about life
>starts to ask more personal questions, eventually turn sexual
>eh why not he's cute, if he's lying about who he is at least this is fun
>eventually he becomes obsessed with wanting to sexually humiliate me and tries to convince me for many days to let him come visit me
>eventually tell him to fuck off

Towards the end I was even concerned about having to tell him to leave me alone. He was weirdly manipulative. Tfw I was a dumb shit and tried to befriend an internet stranger. Looking back on it, I've met some pretty fucked people on Habbo. I'm spooked.

What is there to say? The pedo stuff is mostly adults trying to groom kids playing or idiots telling their other pedo friends about what they do.
The people talking about suicide is mostly depressed people speaking to their friends.

There was one incident though that I found strange and kind of creepy but it is not related to any of that.

This happened mid 2009 not long before I quit working as a GM in WoW, it's not the reason why I quit though. I quit for a new job.

Some backstory first: This took place on a role playing realm in an alliance guild.
This guild in question did what I assume is cult role play with the goal of ascending their leader (a human priest wearing the twilight cultist set) and then themselves through him, it was not normal role play like most did based on the WoW universe and lore but they acknowledged that it was a virtual world etc but they also never spoke of real life outside WoW except for one time when they said that the leader had cancer, they also never grouped or talked with people outside the guild and never went out of character in any of the chat channels in the game.

Now why would a GM care about some niche rp guild that keep to themselves?
The answer is that they liked to exploit and go to places not meant for players.
They would seek out such off limit places to hold masses there. When they exploited glitches they would hold so called rituals. One of the most noteworthy ones allowed them to increase their stats by 75% permanently for every time you performed the glitch.

They all got perm banned in early 2009.
>>
>I actually used to work for Sulake Incorporation between 2003, and 2008.
>The main sites I worked on were Habbo.co.uk, Habbo.jp, Habbo.es, and Habbo.fi
This gave me a little nostalgia rush, OP, because I haven't even heard anyone mention Habbo for a LONG time. You'd be surprised at how scary some of the shit was that did go on because of scripters, hackers, and even a few glitches.
>Be 2004ish
>Habbo Camera is released, in beta mode on Habbo UK
>Camera is working great, but it is possible to take pictures of shit that isn't in client, by using a scripting tool which I believe was either called Havoc, or iHabbix
>This ultimately led to people creating photographs of pornography, shock images, and things such as that.
>On Habbo Japan there is a user who went by the name "SAXON", and he had a bunch of Habbo rooms which were given names such as "Torture Chamber", "NO WAY OUT", "THEY'RE HERE!!!", and other weird things.
>I shit you not, the black backing to his room had been COVERED in photographs which were dropped there using a wall extension script.
>Nothing special? Wrong.
>Every single one of the pictures depicted gore, animal abuse, and other disgusting things.
>Room was locked down, pictures were all removed, and it was renamed "closed", and "SAXON" was banned.

Fast forward six months, no more insane rooms from SAXON, but I decide to search his name, out of curiosities sake.
>Literally all of his rooms have been reopened, and there are screenshots on Habbo photographs of all five of the mods, including myself, who went into his room to close them all neatly lined up along a wall, with a stickie note next to them that just had ":) always. watching." Wrote on it.

Was she hot at least?
My experience with those stalker/desperate types is that they are ugly as fuck. None of them have went this far

And to the newfags, I know he's "lying". Shut the fuck up
>>
>>19098104
Roughly six months later I get told by a colleague (also GM) to come check something out.
There had been several players in the last few days seeking GM help with their characters being in a weird dead-yet-alive state making it so they can't see any players or npcs. But they were visible to other players but not interactable giving a "target must be alive" error and if someone tried to resurrect them then they would get "target must be dead" error. The glitched player could still interact with most objects though.

My colleague said he found where the glitched players came from and told me to teleport to him in Stranglethorn Vale, which I did.
And there stood a human priest wearing the twilight cultist set.
I looked at the name tag but it just read Unknown. Now seeing a name tag as Unknown is not unusual as that is what happens when the client knows that a player is there but haven't loaded everything yet and usually resolves itself after a minute.

It stayed unknown though, however I didn't need a name tag to see the name as a gm. The leader of the banned cult guild.
My first thought is that he somehow got unbanned by pleading to support but I quickly realize something's off. He is looking right at me and even turns as I move so he always faces me, he does not move though.
This might not be so weird until you remember that I'm a gm and we have total invisibility that can not be seen through by players under any circumstances and I've not turned mine off.
The other fellow gm next to me asks if the priest is looking at me too.
It turns out that he is always turned against you on your screen not unlike the mechanic for some npcs when you talk to them.
My colleague told me it seemed that the bugged state of several players from the last days happened if you die within 60 yards of this character.

>>19098248
After going throught your stories they look genuine.

Meh, I don't think HABO itself is addicting. All online games with chat fuctions like that end up in a bunch of circlejerks of bored people, mainly teenagers. Boredom creates drama, and if the bored person is fucked up enough, it leads to what you saw.

>>19098229
We confirmed that was the reason for the glitches characters but we had no idea how it worked.
To make it even more weird he showed as offline and when we checked the account we found it to be still banned and not been logged in for since said ban.

So we tried what any GM would do in said situation, we tried using our kill command to remove the troublesome character. It did not work, all it did was to reduce the hp to 1 but he did not die.

We tried our player teleport command but that did not either work for some reason.
We even managed to get them to do a quick restart of the eastern kingdom instance but the bastard was still there.
In the end we had to log into the account and delete the character itself. That is not really allowed but the account was permanently banned anyway.

I later learned that the owner of said account died 2 months after he got banned in what I assume is the cancer he had. No idea how the character appeared six months later or any of that stuff happened.

Maybe not that creepy but it was very weird.

(At the time) it wasn't possible to do anything like that with any known exploits on Habbo, and even if it was, nobody would bother creating Merry trophies - They'd create staff trophies, as those are worth a lot of in-game currency if they're from the right person. A Merry trophy would hold no real value.

A whole lot of Habbo users are cunts, and not all of them are entirely retarded. Autistic? Maybe. But straight up retarded? Not so much.

A good example of this is when a few users found an exploit way back in the day that allowed you to pull-up the userinfo of any user in the game at will (IP, Email, Date of birth). I'm sure you could imagine; It caused a few problems.

Fair point, but the Finn's had the most obscure sub-culture on Habbo. The Finnish users who got up to no good were always very secretive, and very private about what they were doing, especially in comparison to Habbo.co.uk or Habbo.com where you'd get people actively *trying* to get noticed pulling shady shit in order to build a rep for themselves.
>>19098717
>>19098994
You have no clue how Habbo works.

Habbo did work this way, and several of these rooms still exist. Search the user "Moderator" on Habbo.com, and you'll see that it has several locked rooms that contain confiscated items, and I even own a few such rooms myself on a side-account.

Easiest way to delete bulk items on Habbo (originally) worked like this:
>Drop items in a private room
>Go into room settings
>Delete room
>Room and everything dropped in it gets deleted.
They removed this at a later date when people started deleting rooms full of rare items in-order to boost their scarcity and value in game. Nowa' days, if you delete a room full of stuff, it just goes straight back into your inventory.

Another way to delete items on Habbo worked (and I believe still does work) like this:
>Place items in your inventory
>Open up the Habbo shop
>Go to the ecotron/recycle tab
>Place 6 items in the slots
>Hit "recycle"
>Furniture placed in the slots = Deleted
>Get rewarded with an exclusive "ecotron" item for "recycling" your furniture
This is an in-game feature.

>teacher that takes stuffs from students and put it in closet, then show it to friends.
This is accurate. Most of Habbo's early staff team was made up of Habbo users who offered to do moderation on a voluntary basis. If we found weird items? We'd show them to our friends before removing them from the game.

Several people from /x/ have met me in-game, and I am not bullshitting about who I am, I'd be happy to post proof that I worked there if anyone wants me to. I have 0 incentive to bullshit about it.

>inb4why recycle the furniture as opposed to doing it the way you mentioned.
It was much faster, and the tools for us to do it any other way just simply did not exist while I was there. Admins had access to these things, but community staff, and moderators (which we were at the time) did not have access to these things.

If you have any other questions about it, I'd be happy to try and clear up any confusion.

>It's been plenty of years since 2009 so perhaps nostalgia has kicked in?
I guess I feel a little bit of nostalgia towards it. I'm kind of sad to see what it has become though.

obviously fake. The line where habbo supposedly says that they know about what's going on and are choosing not to do anything about it because both parties are getting what they want reaks of bullshit.

Not the only person who spoke out about this - Someone else called Redvelvet beat me to it. Some Anon dug up the article in which she spoke about it in an interview, but I can't find it anywhere now. Pretty sure it was on Habboages or Habboxforum.

This is true, had to do with the new addition of vehicles in wotlk, dying and accepting the rez sickness (75% minus in all stats) and then joining strand of the ancients battleground before it ran out and fucking with the vehicles there. It essentially reset you to your baseline stats even if you still had the rez sickness and when the rez sickness ran out it was supposed to "restore" your stast but now gave you a permanent 75% boost in your stats and this new level of your stats now counted as the base stats for you character. It lasted through log out, death, entering diffrent instances etc.
They all got banned within 48 hours as we got reports of seeing people with insane hp numbers from other players.
