Is there something mysterious about the gas giants? These closeups are raising the question:

What exactly IS Jupiter?

Also take a look at that. Yeah, imagine floating above that beauty.

Another closeup. This dark spot recently appeared..

>A black spot about the size of the Earth that appeared on the upper cloud surface of the planet Jupiter on July 19 has been confirmed to be the result of a massive object, probably a comet or asteroid, crashing into the planet, according to the results of infrared observations of the planet taken at NASA's Mauna Kea ...Jul 21, 2009

Too bad it's literally Photoshopped. In reality it's barely visible by naked eye and floating above it involves getting a lethal dose of radiation in a matter of seconds.
>>
It's a Fallen Angel. A wandering star.
>>
>>19075469
That's why they sent unmanned probes very close to it, instead of astronauts looking at it, or looking at it with the naked eye.
>>
I wonder if its gravity or magnetic field would have an effect of a space ship

yes to both

You really have to wonder if gravity and magnetic fields would have any effect on a space ship?

Jupiter is flat!
>>
>>19075469
...you do realize that Jupiter is one of the brightest objects in the night sky, right? Even with a basic telescope, you can see the stripes on Jupiter and the galilean moons.

The universe is the greatest artist. I would love to create a painting that looks like that photo. Maybe I will one day.. Jupiter will motivate me to reach that point.

Let me tell you something about gas giants. Jupiter has 67 moons. It has one almost as big as Mars.

There's someone who's half-assedly thinking "space is cool", but thinking "gee we only have eight planets".. while there's a whole world of terrestrial objects in our very solar system that people don't give a shit about because they're not labeled as "planets".

This is why astronomers are cutting their wrists by the dozen, because they don't want to live in this planet anymore where people just glance at these photos and think "well thats cool well I'm hungry time to go buy a Big Mac".

flying above or into a gas giant has to be one of the most hellish experience there is. It's like the devil vomiting in your face for eternity and that vomit is made of death, confusion and hostility and fear. The most nightmarish trip imaginable, like glitching through a video-game floor falling into nothingness x100.

Nope that's real too

Jupiter is so massive that when you look back at older photos of it, it seems blurry as fuck in comparison.

How do these unmanned probes send their data back to Earth?

Do the probes use 5G or DSL?

It would be cool if there were literal floating gas giants in them. I'm told the atmosphere is dense enough so that you need less buoyancy to hover.

>>
>>19078020
They use a primitive device called "radio."
>>
>>19078020
precisely this!

can some anon explain how Nasa gets info from Hubble Saturn and Jupiter sattelites?
>>
what's stopping the gas from just departing?
is there a core in the middle pulling it? if so, what separates the core from the gases?

>>

what?
>>

gas has gravity too
all that's different from dirt is density

but also yes, the theory is that at the center of gas Giants the gravity has compressed enough to turn it liquid most likely

same way we store compressed gasses here

The Earth is flat because a bunch of basement dwellers with no money to prove its flat can say it's flat right ?
But because NASA gets the funding to do this stuff and has shown countless images and the tinfoil hats keep trying to discredit NASA claiming it's fake.
Every time NASA has given proof of stuff people always claim it's fake but I've never seen anyone who claims the Earth is flat every show any proof that can back up what they say is true.
