i dont understand, what did you expect it all to be? at some point anything that exists has to be built by some mechanism. how is saying you're a hologram any different than pagan beliefs in supernatural forces of nature?

from a purely pragmatic and practical sense, belief is irrelevant and can be abandoned completely. all that matters is spreading the human genome across the galaxy and having man dominate all other emerging or existing species.

just like the pagans were pragmatic about their belief and used it to shape their customs and traditions to maximise their chances of survival in harsh climates, we modern humans are pragmatic about acquiring wealth and experience to prepare us for a future where we will be competing with machines and hundreds of billions of other humans for the limited riches of other planets, moons, asteroids and space itself.

There are three possibilities of such a holographic interface.
1) it is impossible and will never exist.
2) it is possible but humanity will go extinct before it is invented.
3) it is possible and humans invent it.
If the third is true the chances of you being real are 1 in a billion. Given our current numbers as a species as an estimate (7 billion) each individual with access to this technology will have a unique reality. Every new reality reduces your chance of being real.
