Just sleep paralysis. The fading in and out is just you fighting going back to sleep. I often get the fading in and out on alcohol but since I quit I hardly get that. Still get SP once or twice a week and it's nothing special or cool or super traumatising after you know what it is.
Sleeping habits play a huge role too. Mines got better since I sorted that out.
It's perfectly normal though and everyone experiences it at least once and you often go through it you just don't remember.
Please just don't turn into a special snowflake if it carries on. People who hype up sp on here like it's the most insane and traumatising thing ever are the worst. It's basically just a self aware dream.
