I agree with this OP. Yes it can be done, but I really hope you'll never do it.
I did it once with an ex bf. He came back, but something was different, it felt weird for both of us, so we did not went back together, although he told me that he loved me. I moved away and started a new life with someone else since then. But we are still friends today, because he is a great guy, but also because I feel responsible for him. He still says years after that he loves me, as if he was compelled to. I did something wrong and I'm gonna pay the price for it all my life. If the person wants to go away from you, let them. Never force them back into your life, you'll only find sorrow.
