Mystic, Formal, and Gifted Sigils are very real, and they work as their intended purpose.

Making a silly scribble and calling it "your sigil" is no different than customizing your cursive signature.

Sigils are commonly associated with entities in some traditions. You might be thinking of the kind used in Chaos Magic. If all you have under your belt is Chaos, it's just brute force. If you train properly and add chaos to a full skillset, it's more of a shorthand for a work you have mastered.

I was drawing a parallel between a customized signature and a customized sigil. You can't just "create" a sigil in photoshop and expect "super cool magic" to happen.
