You are only reading this because you exist, if you didn't, you wouldn't be.

Perception of time comes only from our brain, when you die, that perception is lost and time doesn't tick tock anymore and instead everything happens at once.

Being dead is the same as not being born in the first place.

There is no actual reason light travels at the speed it does, it just does. Similar things apple to other laws of physics.

Pain is percepted as negative and joy as positive. What makes pain so hurtful? Why do we want to prevent it? What is 'hurtful'? Why do we want joy?

If we cut the connection between both of our brain halfs, do we have 2 selfs?

Why are we scared of dying? We know that evolution caused only the fittest who we able to survive to reproduce, but how does this explain being scared of dying?
Why do we want to continue breathing air so badly? If there was a God, why didn't he make people look forward to their last days? Even more wierd, why do even animals, beings that aren't at a level of intellect comparable to humans, scared of dying? Beings that don't even know who and what they are. Beings with no self awareness?
>>
We fear death because it brings an end to life. But Christ offers us life eternal, and so funerals are celebrations now.

Yes, I know that.
But why do we want to live?
Why are we scared of not existing? It sounds peaceful to me.

Animals are self aware they've done studies by putting a mirror in room with an animal and see how long until they notice themselves and different animals have different times until they notice themselves.

This is eerily similar to the description of time/space (as opposed to space/time experienced while alive or "incarnating") in the Law of One

We fear death because we are taught to fear it. In other cultures they just don't. We fear pain because we experienced it before.
Life is pretty simpel. Religion tries to make sure it is not. Some religion can keep us from being the best we can. And that is why the elite created religion, so they will never be controlled. Just like that.

No, you will remain exactly the same (i.e. you will not develop any mental illness) if you corpus callosum is sectioned. You will be at risk for some disorders later in life

It was done as an intrusive treatment to cure chronic debilitating epilepsy a few decades ago

Pain, from an evolutionary perspective, is anything which would decrease your chances of reproducing
Pleasure is the opposite
>>

Nah, I don't think that is true.

Get a newborn baby and only feed and keep it alive till it gets about 14y old, then simply drop it somewhere in the forest.

It will naturally run away from anything that seems dangerouse or aggresive. Or run away from loud noises etc. Because it fears it will get hurt or killed by it.

Its an instinct, but why?
>>
>>18950554
Um. Don't speak for everyone op, there's plenty of people who aren't afraid of death.

We are more than two selfs.

Dualism it's wrong.

Humans are mindless animals. Just because we're clever doesn't mean the majority of us are anything but sleeping drones, piloted through life on impulse and social constructs.

Well, they don't seem too scared. It looks like there nerves are just reacting to damage. They will just sit there while there neck is being eaten, or their guts. Breathing, as if nothing was happening. A human will thrash and tear until the end with tooth and nail.

Only companions animals like Cats and Dogs that have been around humans for thousands of years show any understanding of the fear of death. It's mostly because they sense it on us though, that primal fear. They respond to it.
>>
>>18950554
Animals aren't scared of dying. They are scared of pain and suffering. Animals that die from old age doesn't show this fear you talk about.

>We know that evolution caused only the fittest who we able to survive to reproduce, but how does this explain being scared of dying?

This right here is the answer to its own question. Beings that aren't afraid of dying go ahead and do things that cause them to die sooner, causing them to reproduce less, which in turn causes their non-death-fearing genes to disappear from the pool. This happens even now: The few extreme daredevils who do pop up usually win Darwin Awards sooner than others typically would.

You're forgetting about the terrified stampede prey animals will do when a predator is spotted, and how the slow one who got caught will buck for all it's worth to try to get the predators off before it's too late.

Many predators will bite through the neck of the animal they catch, and this is what finally brings it down. At that point, it is paralyzed. THIS is why it just lays there being eaten - it can no longer move. With its spinal cord bitten through, it may also be unable to feel the pain.

When one is brought down in a way that isn't as clean, it typically shows far more signs of distress and will fight to the best of its ability. Nature shows are a bit reluctant to show those kills, though, but it is possible to find footage if you go looking for it.

Why don't ingested animals struggle if eaten whole? They welcome the darkness and warmth till the end.
