Because the bad guy is just some dude that we can overthrow if we had a superhero on our side right? So just wait for them to turn up and everything will be fine.

Which brings us to the New Agers. Hot damn. You know they called the New Age movement (and even named it as such) at the turn of the 20th Century? It's pop-spirituality, which is just as vomit-inducing as pop-science. Nobody has any critical thinking faculties anymore because even though they know that fake news is a thing, for some reason they still believe everything that they are spoonfed. Humans lie and make errors (I'm looking at the majority of pop-science clickbait articles here). Most people who write articles about astral projection have no idea what the fuck they are talking about, just parroting armchair occultists who like to talk a lot of intellectual wank and never actually practice what they say. They trust whatever comes out of a channel's mouth without questioning what the agenda of anyone involved may be.

Meditation is incredibly important.

Spend time being aware of the nature of your senses, emotions and thoughts. You are not your thoughts or emotions, you are something more essential than that. Developing an understanding of how your own internal processes work make things much easier down the track for things like astral sight, spirit communication, etc.

There's lots of interesting traditions and systems that have a lot of valuable information in them, but you often need to sift and find what rings true through practice. Don't take anything at face value.
