I've seen literally every movie on both of these. Makes me feel sad to be honest

>seen literally every movie

Hey, I'm with you. I own close to 4/500 horror films, have Netflix, Shudder, the internet, etc.

You name it, I've pretty much seen it. What about newer films?

>x files
This show was the one show that every week me and my family would all sit down to watch together. Home came out when I was in 5th grade and I can remember my parents talking about how it was being advertised as the most scary and intense episode ever and they didn't know if it was appropriate for me and my siblings. They decided since I was oldest I could watch with them but my siblings had to play in their rooms. It absolutely terrified me. I was too young to get the subtext to the episode but it just felt icky and was so scary to me. And nightmares ensued. Still my favorite episode of the whole series

I've resorted to reverse watching the popular horror movies on Netflix. Setting the section to least to most popular and working my way through like that. And I've found every best horror you've never seen list online and watched a lot of garbage like that but found some great diamonds.
>>
Some newer films I'd recommend:

>Spilt
Shyamalan does a decent job with creepiness/spookiness and (of course) has a twist-ish ending.

>Cure for Wellness
Critics ripped this film a new one. I felt it undeserved. I thought it was beautiful and had plenty of scary stuff. It's long; but doesn't overstay it's welcome.

>Get Out
The race-driven, horror-social commentary - this film isn't particularly scary; but it's entertaining. It's interesting what it does with horror and black culture.

>Belko Experiment
So entertaining! Just a simple premise - a building becomes locked down by a mysterious agency. The company is told to kill their coworkers or more of them will be killed.

Forgot one!

>Train to Busan
If you're into zombies, this one is just pure kino. It's entertaining and has some great drama in it.
>>
Martyrs (french version only)

If you want real horror that is

I hesitate to call torture porn real horror.

Obake Files by Glen Grant is pretty good

We just watched The Wailing. Reactions were generally positive, but they other idiots in the room wanted to immediately Google "The Wailing explained."
>>
Half way through split and losing interest fast. Is this twist worth it?
>>
>>18925353
>tfw im watching the x files for the 1000th time and see this
wew
seriously, anyone who likes /x/ or just good tv, watch the x files
one of the best series of the last 25 years
>>
>>18926061
>the twist

WELL, I WATCHED IT. So disappointed. The "twist" I was expecting turned out to be a slight reference to another film, implying that the two films take place in the same reality. Half a second right before the credits roll. A single line. Never even saw the other film. FUCK M NIGHT SHYAMALAN

More unsettling than scary (and might be seen as pretentious): Enter the Void, Beyond the Black Rainbow, Under the Skin. If chinese cartoons count, then also Angel's Egg.

Can anyone please explain what the fuck happened at the end of that film?
>>
>>18926195
if you've seen Unbeakable then you'd have a very different opinion.I got so swept off my feet by it none of friends could understand
>>
>>18925424
Split wasn't scary whatsoever. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't a horror movie, it was a thriller. Stop recommending thrillers when people ask for horror/scary movies.

Get Out is just sjw bullshit, and you yourself even said it isn't scary, so again, why the fuck are you recommending non-scary movies in a scary movie thread?

I will never understand you people.
>>
>>18930952
It's recent horror... Working with what I got. It's not like I MADE these films. Retard.
>>
Deep Red, Who Saw Her Die, Malastrana and The Bloodstained Shadow for some older stuff. Angel Heart for the 80's and for more modern Cold Prey 1 + 2, Tattoo and Sennentuntschi. Apologies if you don't like subtitles.
>>
>>18925346
Wow I havent heard or seen anything about critters in ages, last time I watched it is when I was like 11
>>
>>18930234
I """could"""" give away the ending for others... because
spoilers don't work on /x/
Or you could look up ending interpretations yourself?
