Or the more fun theory is our dreams can be a visual gateway to our separate multiverse selves and you are playing a scene that happens in alternative renditions of yourself as they happen with subtle differences in awareness.
I reckon alternatively you could be going to the same "dreamscape." a place that exists in the 4th dimension only accessible when under the influence of DMT.
