well that makes sense - Michael Aquino was hypothetically super on the remote viewing program...I read an entire book about his involvement, called The Psychic Battlefield. Book was a little sketchy in terms of its legitimacy, but it contained some interesting anecdotes.
>>
addendum, sorry the whole book isn't about aquino, it's about occult/psy involvement in the military in general. The author is insufferable, so I don't entirely recommend...there is an amusing bit where he just lays into Ronald and Nancy reagan though

If one is to get started on Thelema, what is a suggested reading list? I started on Magick in Theory and Practice since it was in the beginner section but I feel like I would need more readings to understand it clearer. I have a rough understanding of his Berashith essay but I can't say I find it all clear lol.

What's the Typhonian current, btw? I read the Dark Lord once and it seemed to have even more of a focus on sex magick than usual.
>>
>>18824699
>what is a suggested reading list
All Class B texts.
And that's just to start you off.
That's what they want out of a Probationer.
That's what you should expect from yourself.

>Typhonian
This refers to many things, most Grant's speculations on the nature of Apophis which as been repackaged into various systems.
>>
>>18824730
Class B even before reading the holy books?
>>
>>18824767
If we're going by Probation protocols, yeah, all Class B texts plus Liber 65.

Liber L vel Legis isn't even on the A.'.A.'. reading list until Zelator.

L 65 is for Probationers.
L 7 is for Neophytes.
L 220 is for Zelators.

>"I am the daughter of Fortitude and ravished every hour from my youth. For behold, I am Understanding, and science dwelleth in me; and the heavens oppress me. They covet and desire me with infinite appetite; for none that are earthly have embraced me, for I am shadowed with the Circle of the Stars, and covered with the morning clouds. My feet are swifter than the winds, and my hands are sweeter than the morning dew. My garments are from the beginning, and my dwelling place is in myself. The Lion knoweth not where I walk, neither do the beasts of the field understand me. I am deflowered, yet a virgin; I sanctify and am not sanctified. Happy is he that embraceth me: for in the night season I am sweet, and in the day full of pleasure. My company is a harmony of many symbols, and my lips sweeter than health itself. I am a harlot for such as ravish me, and a virgin with such as know me not. Purge your streets, O ye sons of men, and wash your houses clean; make yourselves holy, and put on righteousness. Cast out your old strumpets, and burn their clothes and then I will bring forth children unto you and they shall be the Sons of Comfort in the Age that is to come."

Cold Open:
When the King conceived ordaining
He engraved engravings in the luster on high.
A blinding spark flashed
within the Concealed of the Concealed
from the mystery of the Infinite,
a cluster of vapor in formlessness,
set in a ring,
not white, not black, not red, not green,
no color at all.
When a band spanned, it yielded radiant colors.
Deep within the spark gushed a flow
imbuing colors below,
concealed within the concealed of the mystery of the Infinite.
The flow broke through and did not break through its aura.
It was not known at all
until, under the impact of breaking through,
one high and hidden point shone.
Beyond that point, nothing is known.
So it is called Beginning,
the first command of all.
cut to a quote on a black screen
"The enlightened will shine like the zohar of the sky,
and those who make the masses righteous
will shine like the stars forever and ever"
(Daniel 12:3).

Son of Man & Head of Days
Then the (4-12ish) Seraphin.
Then the Cherubin on down.

Is the 'Queen of Heaven' the manifestation of the Head of Days = Holy Spirit? As the Son of Man is the manifestation of God in the masculine as Jesus the Christ?

Or is the Queen of Heaven one of the fundamental patterns as a Seraphin? ...Or some jumped up lesser Angle of Light which is either proudly arrogant and fallen or simply unusually verbose?

ONA spawn, applies that sweet LaVeyan technique; showmanship, presenting himself and his work with some "look how evil I am" shtick. Not a fan of his aesthetics... and his work ethics.

He has (had?) a tendency to interpret Mesopotamian pantheons and misunderstanding the roles of the gods/entities, usually plastering everything with some "adversary" perspective. Lacks sources, he makes up a story about a certain deity and the core of his explanation is "because darkness n shit".

Ford's books MIGHT give some different insights on LHP philosophies, but that's about it.
Okay-ish for a beginner. Hell, better Ford than JoS. That's one positive side, his work doesn't make much damage. Even though it lacks depth, it instigates to learn more.

It's an adaptogen. Works on the dopaminergic and serotonergic systems, which if you have the adhd pathology, covers both your bases (since they still don't have any idea what neurochemical system that works on...). Vamachara and if you don't like it I'll go make the Krsnite/Vaishnav general thread for you to use.

My point, rather, was "it depends". "Eastern" is an abstraction I hate using and would rather speak on like actual sects and praxes which I can start to unpack a little but if you're just gonna go "wat read" with little or no direction on what you're interested in beyond the vague implication of half a continent, I'm probably going to have a terse reply.

If you really really need "babby's first", there's a reason I keep a beginner's folder with like college level "intro to [thing]" texts in my Eastern folder.

I was TRYING to prod the dude into asking a more detailed question but I guess we're all gonna be fagmouths about it.

Considering how natural DMT is developed through meditative exercise already, is there ever any excuse to be had for applying mind altering drugs into the equation? I have never used any while staunchly avoiding them but despite reported dangers in mixing drugs and occult activities together, some people swear by them. Are these people just impatient and damaging their internal balance or are there qualities to be respected from certain foreign substances?

Some of us need to be shown the way and build up neural pathways and triggers for maoi production and tryptamine release. Constant use is a waste as plunging the chemical toilet is a shitty experience.
>>
>>18829159
>Considering how natural DMT is ***PROBABLY*** developed ***in the brain, aside from native but nonactive amounts elsewhere in the body*** through meditative exercise already
1) Gimmie the study that actually verifies in-vivo DMT production at active levels diffuse across the grey matter in humans, because afaik, it's still not been published. Best we have is in the mouse brain, which only is indicative of mice. Gimme, like a pig or something. Even better, a lower primate. Then we can start speaking of mammals.
2) The drug experience overlaps with but is not the drug experience. Think Venn Diagram.

I like low to subactive doses of trypatmines. Once did an hour solid block of yoga on a quarter of psicubes. It was neat.

Just remember that they are the tool and not the goal, and you'll be fine.

>so is the Operation of Abramelin still considered the standard?
Um, sorta?
Abramelin is the base model that most Westerners use. You'll notice the Bornless/Headless one uses much the same structure.
But the key to remember here is that everyone's gonna have their OWN ritual for contact.
Everything else is just an example for you to cannibalize.

A good bridge to fill the gap between the two would be DBoE, particularly the Rite of Tan, the Peacock Feathered Angel, and the Four Watchers, PARTICULARLY since they deal with the same classes of entity (Abramelin has you binding the Kings of Hell, where DBoE uses the Agrippan Infernal Principalities.

You managed to ask the right question(s).

The HGA is a broad phenomenon. It's probably composed of multiple parts...the Vision (Adonai ha Aretz), the Voice (Augoeides) and their union in the interceding Angel. This is why it can manifest as a purely psychological phenomena in some students and a very real experience of Face for others.

Consider the love triangle of Hephaestus, Aphrodite, and Ares. Hephaestus is the smith of the gods, and he is wedded to the beautiful Aphrodite, but we all know Hephaestus isn't the only one pounding that anvil. Aphrodite has mothered many children by the war-god Ares; note that the sigil also resembles the spear of Ares prodding at the mirror of Aphrodite; an added layer of irony is that the spear of Ares was born on the anvil of Hephaestus, reflecting a reality that the blacksmith is never as greatly respected as the swordsman. In totality, it represents the creative forces of life and death facilitated by the labors of a supreme cuck.

As for practical applications, I leave that as an exercise for the reader.

I have spent the last month reading daily stuff about the occult, starting from a complete newbie from sigils and liber to goetic demons to egyptians whatnot.

I don't know what to believe anymore. Which one of these deities exist?

If some of them exist, why not others and why them?

Even his recent memoirs are worth getting (even if you have little interest in his life experiences) if for no other reason than fully one third of the book is articles and essays he wrote for various orders within the Temple of Set during his time there.

Well there's also the sense of community a church provides, which is something I missed out on as a kid. I was always witchy-leaning, but there are no covens in my small southern town (well there is one, but it's no grils allowed).

I think you made people salty because depending on where you live you're much more likely to be forced to go to a church where the theology is hypercapitalist and the community cares more about conformity than "love." A sense of wholesome community is nice but it isn't wholesome if your preacher is telling your parents to electrocute the gay away.

>grass is always greener
Yeah I understand that impulse. The ideal of having a supportive spiritual community is a powerful and beautiful ideal. Sometimes I think occultists are too reactionary against Yeshua (e.g. Crowley dismissing him as an evil sorcerer) but spend enough time talking to occultists and you'll find some people who have had truly horrific experiences as a result of their church. I have no issues with Christ personally but his formula just isn't working for me anymore
>>
>>18832896
There are also many people in this world who have actually killed themselves because they have been victims of rape at the hands of priests, including in the third world countries where you think people have "actual problems"

I was also not criticizing capitalism as such but the hyper materialistic prosperity gospel which is such a blasphemy against the direct words of Jesus Christ that the fact it is merely spoken and supported in giant mega churches all over the world is proof that Christianity is effectively a dead religion.
>>
>>18832900
Well, depending on which gospel, you are right. In The Qabalah of Aleister Crowley, for instance, he discusses the discrepancies between the Jesus of John and the Jesus of Matthew (I think those are the ones, I don't have my book to double check) All in all, though, Jesus comes off as quite a zealot. Maybe not in the same ways as Mohammed could be considered a zealot, but excessive zeal most certainly plays a part in most of the stories of Jesus. Also, Crowley did not reject IHShVH as both a concept and a formula, just the actions of Jesus of the Bible in particular.

I mean, Jake "I wear ladies' clothing" Stratton-Kent is firsthand responsible for the renaissance of grimoire work via Geosophia, Encyclopedia Goetica, his edition of and erudite comments on Grimorium Verum including reconstructions of our historical gaps not to mention one of the only explications of Pyramidos ever published while triggering a renewed interest in African Syncretic Religion.

But yes, the left is non productive and killing occultism.

Most striking is the belief that Maya temples were built by a race of dwarfs in
complete (miana) darkness. The rulers who lived on top of these mountainous structures
received their nourishment in the form of blood through an animated hollow rope that
hung suspended in the sky. For some unknown reason, the blood duct was later cut and
the artery disappeared forever (Tozzer 1907:153; Furst, in J. Wilbert 1993:129; cf.
Looper and Guernsey-Kappelman 2000).

I've reading this and it's surprisingly complete and most of the stuff isn't described anywhere else including some rituals that some of authors mention but I never saw the basis for them and I always discarded them as new age inventions.

I just can't get into the whole "put on robes and wave a knife around" deal. I know magic is work, but I just hate that whole deal.

I have no idea what is/isn't relevant of the above, but I've shared what I felt like I should share.

Anyway, advice? I've been thinking of just going to a crossroads, carving a Papa Legba veve into the gravel, and asking him to please help me find my way.

Being mostly trad craft is a good thing, but wicca and trad craft are largely unrelated while sharing the same framework and grammar, so knowledge of one is only a superficial knowledge of the other. Quimbanda or vodou, honestly. Then try to answer what trad craft means to you and what you want to explore: essex cunning work, appalachian granny magic, celtic reconstructionism, thelema with a veneer of celtic reconstructionism, yezidi mysticism syncretized with shivatantra syncretized with vodou syncretized with cainite gnosis through the framework of ye auld træditionale wytcha cræfte or just worshiping a binary god(dess) and doing your own thing. Somewhere in there is putting on horns and fucking a bunch of fat crazy lesbians out in the woods.
