It's mostly limited by the current kalpa. In the past there was enough ambient energy to do incredible things. Humans lived incredibly long as well. See how long Adam Kadmon had lived for reference.

The current etheric levels are fairly low comparatively, but it's like a tide that will wax and wane. You can still bring exceptional at a time like this, but there are limits. We don't know when the levels will increase but it seems as though they're currently rising. See montalk for more
