Could gods be similar to the idea of Tulpas? These people spend their entire lives envisioning and believing in a make believe "god" could the "miracles" and "he spoke to me" stuff where they legitimately believe they spoke or seen god just be their Tulpa they've created who helped them out? The entire thing about church is "you have to wholeheartedly believe and give into god" Its the same kinda concept isnt it?

I think the word you are looking for is egregores, because tulpas operate on a completely different principle. Yes, I think it's withing the realm of possibility that SOME 'gods' are indeed egregores.
