Are dreams the training section of our simulated reality? Your thoughts are instantly manifested in a dream and there's a learning curve to dream control. While in "real life", you can supposedly manifest things through thought/visualization/etc. I'm not sure if I fully believe we're in a simulation, just a hypothetical discussion.

sure it can function as that
sleeping is really just a cooldown/repair phase for your body. a good portion of you is released from your body when you sleep. not as much as when you die but it still happens same idea.
