I have all of these cards at my moms house :D
Omg, brings back so much memories.
Dude. I have the entire book that the OP pic comes from. It's pretty awesome. If you can find it, buy it. Or just post all the pictures from it...
>>18737425
I recognize that picture, it's from a really cool scholastic kids cryptids books, it's from one of these pictured (not mine)
>>18737819
I love them when I was younger, I'm in college rn but will try to post them all the next time I'm home
Goblins?!
>>18737819
This are amazing, how it is called?
>>18737845
I'd shoot the fuck out of that thing.
>>18737874
I'd fuck that thing.
>>18737827
Mythical Monsters!!
fuck me anon i loved that book as a kid, its really what sparked my interest into the paranormal as i was an avid reader aat the time.
it was books like this, Dragonology, alien encounters and ghost stories that i autisticly obsessed over
i still have many of them, they all contain really cool shit
thank you for that fleeting but wonderful nostalgia trip anon, this is why i love 4chan
>>18737909
>Dragonology
My nigga. I still have that one too! Saving all these old spoopy books for my kids.
>>18737932
These books had the best visual style, the art was great
This is from dragonology the first one i bought
>>18737296
For once op was not a faggot
>>18737839
Is that manga good? Does it show the goblin slayer kill goblin babies? That sounds fuckin' awesome
>>18737296
>>18737296
No shit, I lived in Hopkinsville as a kid.
Promiscuous Bigfoot
>>18738170
I cuts away but he does kill them. Also, plenty of goblin on human girl rape.
>>18737909
Fuck yeah! Good to see someone else that loved Mythical Monsters like I did.
>>18737986
Ah dude I still got that and Egyptology
bruh I had the mythical monsters book, good shit wore that shit down
>>18737296
why do all of these things look completely retarded like from a 1979 D&D monster manual
>>18740528
Trust a goblin, end in a coffin.
>>18737845
That creature was NOT in the book everyone is talking about. I didn't know there were cards of it. Post more cards?
>>18740528
what manga?
The cards were called weird and wild creatures I think. There were different color coded categories like cryptids (monsters of the mind), fish (monsters of the sea?), and dinosaurs (monsters of the past). My grandma used to get them monthly for me and my cousins.
>>18741892
Goblin Slayer. It's pretty fun. Mc is an autistic super sperg about killing goblins and he gets pretty creative with his 'pest control' methods.
>>18737986
Ah. I remember being about 8. And thinking that book was 100% real. My grandpa bought it for me and sort of played along with the book. Fun times.
Love me a good cryptid thread

The Sidehill Gouger
>only lives on hillsides
>one leg shorter than the other, aiding walking on the hillside
>only walks in one direction around the hillside
>if it runs into another sidehill gouger walking the opposite way, they will have to fight to the death in order for one to proceed
>if chased or lured off of the hillside, will walk endlessly in a circle due to the difference in leg size

Great manga, just binge read all of it.
Only gripe is that I wish they used a little less fantasy tropes.

I'm fixated on the Bloop.
I still really don't buy the icequakes explanation. Cthulu is the meme explanation but the Pacific Ocean is so vast and deep and mysterious. The idea of this being of animal origin was actually entertained by scientists for a while. Briefly, but enough to grab my interest.

Does anyone remember the book "Cryptids and other Creepy Creatures"?
Also, does anyone have anything to say about Mokele Mbembe, Mbeilu-Mbeilu-Mbeilu and J'ba FoFi?
Pic related is from the book.

You really think that something similar to the linked happening wouldn't cause a massive sound that could be picked up thousands of miles away?
This is only the biggest every filmed meaning there could be many, many other larger events that go unnoticed that could have cause the bloop.
Here's the whole collection: http://wierdnwildcreatures.wikia.com/wiki/Monsters_of_the_Mind

I'm surprised nobody has turned the Kelly Hopkinsville Encounter into a movie yet

The hopkinsville Case is one of my favourites for a potential encounter. The way the witnesses reacted, to investigation and just wanted to be left alone gives them no reason to have made it up. I remember reading an article about it with a member of the family talking about their grandparents (i think) who were there. The way they'd go quite and look troubled, showing that they were still haunted by it all.
>>18746270
This is the most ridiculous cryptid I've ever heard of
>>18756720
Good one anon, I nearly died keking
>>18737296
Jesus fuckin Christ, no "needle-like teeth" or "sharp talons" were ever reported on the Hopkinsville Goblin case. The case is already plenty interesting without assholes making embellishments like that.
>>18746486
Heresy.
>>18739883
Wicked rap points, yo.
>>18746235
Kuwra
>>18737296
I visit Hopkinsville all of the time and I have never heard of a Goblin.
>>18737827
This was my shit when I was a kid.
>>18746270
This is so dumb I love it.
I can just imagine a hiker seeing a dumpy thing walking in circles, and probably think it's a rejected inbred child.

Used to collect these as a kid, still have the collection. Feels good man.
This thread hit me right in the nostalgia
>>18737296
Weird and Wild Creatures was the shit my man. I still have a whole box set locked in a storage unit.
>>18737296
Back when I was a kid growing up near Hopkinsville, we called it the "Hopkinsville Monster" not goblin. Never heard it called a goblin. Used to be scared to go out after dark because of this story, wouldn't stand next to our house when taking the dogs out at night, just in case something was up on the roof, that would then reach down and I would feel its claw skimming through my hair. Lots of UFO sightings in the area in the late 70's, really fueled my alien fear. I used to drive past this site all the time back in the day...chills.
>>18763110
Keep it away from pencils. Or else.

I don't get it
Knuckles looks weird in this pic.

>women aren't cryptids
They may as well be to me.
>>18763964
What's that sigil mean Anon?
>>18757474
It's probably not a daily topic of conversation anymore after 70-some years.
>>18765401
Fair point... I've mostly only seen pictures of them online and on tv, and the only ones I've seen in real life were from years ago... so I guess I couldn't 100% say that it isn't just faulty memory.
>>18737296
this was a bunch of drunk rednecks shooting out the windows of their house bc they saw an owl. that's really it, look it up.
How about the cactus cat? An alcoholic bobcat-like creature with sharp spines on it which inhabits deserts, gets drunk on fermented cactus juices, and stabs anything near its territory to death in a blind drunken rage.
>>18763110
Her shack is on top of a chicken leg according to legend. I can see why they omitted that.
>>18737819
Yep. I have the book as well. Found it at a thrift store.
>>18749223
So when are we gonna stop pretending this is a good manga?
The main character is not mysterious, he is fucking boring, the rest of the world is just dungeons of dragons with more rape.
Remember when Berserk did this chapter with Trolls, but you actually had characters you cared about and It wasn't a rejected hentai idea?
Goblin Slayer is not good for fapping, and it is weak for story. Only redeeming quality is that the MC's armour is cool.
>>18769200
>So when are we gonna stop pretending this is a good manga?
Right now. Berserk was never good.
>>18763110

>>18765401
By the way which cryptid is the most fuckable?
My vote goes to bigfoot.
Look at the size of those titties.
>>18765401
I did not ask for this feel.
>>18770520
I'm sorry you have a shit taste.
And if you think Goblin Slayer is good, I'm sorry for your retardation.
And if you think Goblin Slayer is better then Berserk, you need to be put in a institution, cause clearly there is something wrong with you.
Me reading this thread
>>18771960
>I'm sorry
You sure are.
>>18769200
I tried to read Berserk but that faggot fairy (puck?) kept putting me off/giving me weird boners. Fuck that shit son, it's unnerving. Besides that, good read, maybe I'll give it another chance this year...
I have the Mythical Monsters book buried somewhere in my closet. If I dig it up, I can share pics. But first, I need to find another book from my childhood. I can't recall the name of it, but it was a book about aliens, with very detailed and freaky illustrations. The cover of the book had an alien hand on it, and each "chapter" detailed a different kind of close encounter, ranging from a UFO sighting to the abduction of Travis Walton, and the alleged abduction of a woman from an apartment building, where the abduction was witnessed by others. The Hopkinsville case was included in that book as well. If anyone can help me find it, that would be greatly appreciated.
>>18763964

>>18737296
Holy shit I still have those. Good old Grandmomanon.
>>18751190
Yeah I remember this book and it's shitty illustrations. I had a hard time believing that there's a bunch of dinosaurs and flying orangutans in Africa though.
Fun fact:
Both ET and Poltergeist came out of an aborted Spielberg project called Dark Skies, about the Hopkinsville Goblins case.
