What you call "artistic cinematography" is "not bad" at best. Knowing a bit of color correction is far from artistic.
Can't comment on the plot since there wasn't much to go on, but what the director/cinematographer thought as tone, in reality was just slow. Can't say I'll keep watching since it didn't get me on its first try.
