What if the Kuiper Belt is actually unique to Sol and was created by aliens to decrease our ability to see out of and leave the solar system?
>>
>>18688062
They won't contain us for long.
>>
It's the near sol remains of the solar excresion disc, the farther limits of which are the oort cloud.

Anyway it didn't stop the voyager space craft from entering extrasolar space so the aliens aren't doing a very good job of they set this up
>>
We don't have the technology to leave our solar system and never will, it's just too damn big
>>
what if it was created by god to keep things out not us in
>>
>>18688062
It's not really a belt per say. More like a sphere. All those astriods full of metal. Maybey they act like a giant radio wave blocker?
>>
>>18688085
Except that radio waves reach us just fine right now.
>>
>>18688085
Why can we still communicate with voyager and pioneer space craft outside the Faraday cage if the Kuiper objects block radio transmissions?
>>
>>18688062
It's all just an illusion. Above us there is only the Face of God but it's so bright and unimaginable that the human brain is created a hallucination to process it. This is what called Universe these days.
>>
>>18688097
Prove it.
>>
>>18688099
Except that spacecraft can't hallucinate.
>>
It's not diminishing our ability to see out of the solar system. In fact, we see it at all.

For ships leaving the solar system, the Kupier belt wouldn't be an impediment. Both Voyager probes already have passed the belt. Yes there are thousands of objects, but they're so spread out nothing hits anything. And even if it were thick, it's still a belt, in the plane of the ecliptic.
>>
>>18688105
But then you would just hallucinate the test results and photos. Besides your an utter mong if you think god doesn't just gobble up everything we launch off this "ball earth".
>>
>>18688085
>full of metal

The KBOs are almost all ices.
>>
>>18688123
I think it's more like 50/50 Ice and silicate.
>>
>>18688114

Would leaving the Oort Cloud be an issue?
>>
>>18688128
You say that like you knew this prior to new Horizons
>>
>>18688131
Would only take longer

The rea
>>
>>18688131
No. Same reasons. It's not like the asteroid field in Empire Strikes Back.
>>
>>18688132
No I'm just watching a Kuiper belt documentary.
>>
Have we ever seen evidence of a Kuiper belt equivalent around any other stars beside Sol?
>>
>>18688149
Dude we can't even tell if exoplanets have moons yet which in most cases are larger than KBOs so no
>>
>>18688149
It's the remenants if the bloody accretion disk.

Every system seems to have planets which means it had an accretion disk ergo it has a Kuiper belt and oort cloud
>>
>>18688140
>>18688139

I remember hearing the solar system has a radiation type belt surrounding it but I forget what it was called
>>
>>18688149
Yes, they've been observed in quite a few star systems.
>>
>>18688105
Indeed. However the engineers who build them can. Those spacecrafts never leaved Earth's atmosphere. The data they transferred back is based on beliefs of the scientists. As in the antiquity people believied that they met Apollo for example.

There is no way out. Human brain in itself is a prison. It doesn't matter that humans created mathematics, physics etc. These are nothing more than our modern mystic languange.
>>
>>18688155
Do you mean Van Allen belts around planets with a magnetosphere?
>>
>>18688155
The heliosphere
>>
>>18688155
Oort Cloud?
>>
>>18688161
Yes

Is that an issue?

Once I became a computer and once nanotechnology becomes a thing I just want to fly off into my own private area of the galaxy and create my own private solar systems and roleplay ancient aliens for trillions and trillions of years.

Would that hold an issue?

Would the jews even let me build the spaceship needed for me to do it?
>>
>>18688166
Not radiation, just solar wind coming from the sun. There's the termination shock, where the solar wind runs into the interstellar cases, but that's no radiation belt and it wouldn't be any real kind of barrier, except for the interstellar gases, by definition.

>>18688178
ice and rock, not radiation.
>>
>>18688186
Mainly your limiting factor is going to be energy. The ion drives and solar energy won't get you very far.
>>
>>18688186
It's an issue that space programs have to deal with now. Though, for example the Apollo missions went around the belts.
>>
>>18688186
It's not an issue now.
>>
>>18688189
The solar wind is radiation.

What do you think it's made of?
>>
Speaking of space related fringe BS, does anyone know more about that Ben 10 looking thing that was found alongside the TRAPPIST system? People were saying it was an artificial object.

Couldn't I just use nanotechnology to create a mini sun that follows me for so I can harvest its energy or something? I could suck in nearby asteroids for atoms.

I'm sure once I'm a computer with an IQ of 13000 I can figure out other solutions.

I'm just worried occultish pricks are going to be to sentimental to let any humans escape their planet.
>>
>>18688198
Mostly protons and electrons. But it's present everywhere in the solar system, not a "radiation belt" and at the distance of the heliopause it would be far thinner than at 1 AU.
>>
>>18688204
There are theoretical propulsion systems that make a miniature "star" and use that to generate thrust.
>>
>>18688199
I have no idea what you're talking about.
>>
>>18688062

Sure except that belts like that we're the first things We could image from other star systems beside the stars.
>>
>>18688214

Would I be able to use nanotech to even engineer a spacecraft that would let me fly off, find a private area to set up camp and then start building proper infrastructure?
>>
>>18688204
I'm not really sure what your expectations are regarding the future of this civilization but I find it unlikely anyone will be able to stop private citizens (even if they are now computers) from buying a SpaceX ride and then voyaging off into the stars.

Sounds like good business to me.

Go back to your containment system

You are my least favorite poster on /x/ after the flat-earthers, divinationfags, succubus posters, CIA cointelpro agents, LARPers, and tripfags.
>>
>>18688062
The Kuiper belt is in the accretion disk, only along two dimensions. That's a pretty shitty cage considering we can just go "up"
>>
>>18688405
Then how come everything always orbits on a flat plane?
>>
>>18688437
It's flattened out by rotational forces produced by the stars' gravity
>>
>>18688160
Can... Can I buy a bag of your weed?
>>
>>18688437
That's my point, ithe kuiper belt isn't some sort of engineered cage. We can leave the solar system rather easily. The kuiper belt isn't blocking anything. The only salient point, and what op is mistaking, is that the belt is hard to see due to how dim everything is that far out. Considering the size of the objects in the belt relative to other objects such as planets which reflect more light.
>>
>>18688080
What?
You literally could go from top or bottom.
See OPs pick.
>>
>>18688062
Couldn't we just go over it?
>>
It's all about that Oort Cloud thats stopping us.
>>
>>18688214
Link to anything talking about those? Sound interesting
>>
>>18688154
We're sort of in between two groups of sun like stars, and in those groups the stars are usually p close together. Like we're a little unusual in that our closest neighbour is a little over 4 ly away. So it's possible that some of the far out debris is at least shared in most cases local to us.
>>
>>18688078
but human technology had left the solar system moron

The would require a lot more energy than just going through it with adequate, cautionary shielding.
http://www.universetoday.com/121224/why-dont-we-send-probes-up-in-the-solar-system/
>When spacecraft launch, they already have tremendous velocity just from the rotation of the Earth and the speed of the Earth orbiting the Sun.
>If you wanted to escape the Earth’s gravity and explore the Solar System in the regular old way, you’d need to add about 10 km/s in velocity to your spacecraft. But for straight up, you’d need about 30 km/s, meaning more fuel, and compromises to your payload.

https://www.quora.com/Why-dont-we-send-probes-or-rockets-in-directions-vertical-to-the-plane-of-the-Solar-System
>In addition it is rather costly to launch a spacecraft on such orbit, because you have to simultaneously brake its motion in the plane of the solar system (from Earth's orbital speed) and give it high boost in the perpendicular directions. Either lots of fuel, or clever gravity assist maneuvers are required.
