I've been in a situation like yours where I was assaulted by demons daily even on two occassions when they revealed themselves to me. I would take a Bible and feed it to my Rottweiler just for fun not realizing there were demons behind it hindering me. I recommend you devote yourself to Christ first, by accepting him into your heart and loving him and God's will, then by confessing your every sin from the bottom of your heart, knowing you are speaking to God. I did this last summer, in late May, and I was in confession from 9 in the afternoon to 7 in the morning. A week later my cousin started an argument with me and he even attacked me because "I was too nice."

Well God said through Matthew 5:11 and 5:12

11 "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

Philosophies have brought me no where, and they definitely won't bring you anywhere either. Don't try and figure out exactly how your times got bad, instead, find yourself a solid foundation to build a house upon since your last house was built on sand and washed away by the sea.

I was depressed for 4 years, and since I truly found God, I haven't been depressed at all, however, my motivation needs work. I'm pretty lazy, still. I was a ball of anxiety and cowardice. I was afraid of every social situation ever, but now I can actually talk to people. I am confident in almost everything I do. I pursue peace, love, and happiness. Nearly everything I do is by choice now, not on impulse. I tell you this to show you what God has done for me.
Before all of this, I was contemplating suicide everyday and very insecure to the point where my insecurities became pride. I was patient with God when I accepted Christ. I know not to rush into any relationship. I know God works through other people in my life to bring me where I need to be. Look at life as a path. Imagine right now that you are on a crooked path when you could take the straight path, which, by logic, is beneficial.
Proverbs 3:6
Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

So work towards becoming more holy having faith that produces good works and abstain from sexual immorality, as you already know that it can cause you more harm than good.
