i have read a report of a guy who actually did something similar to this, he essentially went on a spirit quest, but added in dmt and other drugs, i remember finding it one day at this site , dmtnexus, i believe in its somewhere in the quality experiences reports section, not sure ill have to look for it later. i found it a few years a back.

Being in an isolation tank sober will cause you to slightly hallucinate and possibly panic. Sensory deprivation does strange things to the mind.
Being on a hallucinogen while in one might be absolutely horrific. You'd have to be experienced and probably try being in one sober first.

As someone who's had a decent amount of experience with LSD, I would think you'd get bored quickly in an iso tank. I've researched DMT a bit, but can't get any yet where I'm at. If you have a breakthrough experience, you'd probably drown.

Pretty much this, on all my shroom,cid, and cacti trips. When I would just lay down and close my eyes to watch the fractals. I'd lose all sense of my body and outside world. And a story would unfold from the fractals into something more intense.

Aside from the one time I tripped and had poison ivy, where I could feel the itching and scanning of what felt like every skin cell on the effected area.

Isolation tanks from my experience(my friend had one in his old apt) just like psychs, is a tool to help block out all 5 of your senses, to help meditate

Try a strong marijuana edible (particularly a pure sativa one) and you will definitely find the experience exhilarating. I've wanted to try ketamine in one, but I haven't got the chance yet. Also, be aware that float sessions can be expensive and make sure the place you go to follows proper sanitation and hygienic guidelines. You don't want to be floating in what could be someone else's shitwater.

The key point of an isolation tank that is not available otherwise is the fact that since the water is kept at skin temperature, you easily lose sense of your body.
