So this happend about two years ago. I worked at an IT company but I decided I needed to get away , I have always loved the outdoors and now was my chance to get to what I loved.

Lets say my love of it is not so fond anymore after what happend. It was around summer time and I had the week off , I looked on google maps for some nice wooded area to camp out in making sure that there was road so I could drive there.

Nothing seemed weird about it , I packed my bag a tent and a 12g. I got in my truck and began my drive , nothing uneventful. So I arrive and it around 3pm the sun is still high up in the sky and I look around for a decent area to set up camp , I chose a spot on the side of a hill of which it seemed to plateau for a bit. So it went Down-flat-down.

So I finish getting set up and my attention turns to gathering firewood as it will be getting dark soon and the temperature drops quite fast. Its fine so far and I hear the birds chirping away as day starts to turn into dusk , I was not concerned with hunting today as I had bought enough food to last me the week encase I did not kill anything and for the people complaining that it was out of season deers are fair game all year as their number have got of hand.

So I get all warped up and settle down for the night , I woke up in the morning fine and went off to use the toilet etc. I decided that I would have a go at trying to find some deer track. I go to my truck to get the 12g and some slugs and I notice some tracks around the truck. At this point im wondering how these could be there and I was not awoken by the noise, I mean I was parked maybe about 50 75 meters away but surely I would have heard something. They look like large foot prints but I just pass it off as a hiker just wondering about wonering what I was up to.

Hunting was unsuccessful even though I found some tracks they just vanished into thin air , I just hiked around for the rest of the day hoping to find some more tracks but I could not. A deer epidemic year right I thought. This is when it starts to get weird when I got back to the Truck I saw what looked like fresh prints around my truck and I saw them leading up to my tent. I had my 12g with me so I felt confident and shouted is anyone here, wondering if the land was owned by someone near by and I didnt know about it. I search around to find nothing of intrest and I just wonder if I keep missing this guy , I didnt leave my 12g out of sight though.

Collecting more firewood for the night but its different this time, no more birdsong. It was deathly quite which I thought nothing of as I was strolling around these birds home and smoking them out with a fire. So im around the fire and cutting a can open with a knife as I was Hungary and didnt wanna go to my truck to get the can opener. I cut my thumb. Nothing major just a bit of blood but it hurt enough for me to sqeak fuck. In the dead silent forest I heard its moment. It was dark and silent and their was no breeze but braches were snapping and any fallen leafs were being crunched.

Then it went silent.

part 2

At this point all the primal alarm bells are ringing, and thats when the putrid smell invaded my nostrils. It was so strong I could almost taste it and it was metallic as well. I shouldered my weapon and began getting useful things together that I may need if I decide I need to go. I mean I could be a bear dragging its fresh meal and I didn't plan on being a side. So I have my 12g some touches(head torch,hand torch and one of those camp lights.) I dont turn these on because I think that if I do if the bear has not seen me yet then their is no reason to give away my position.On top of this I had my knife that I cut my thumb with.

That when the silence was broken.

At this point my adrenal glands went into overdrive it was my voice I was ready to lift a fucking 18 wheeler.

I shouted, at this point im feeling in my pockets for an ammo count . I have 16 slugs on me and what seems to be a few buck which must have been left over from anther time out I had a chance to get away from work.

I will admit at this point I was unhinged , I had a pumpaction fully loaded and about 19 other cartridges, what ever it was it was not gonna get me without a fight. I fired a slug off into the darkness , I heard it hit a tree and splinters fly around in all direction I must have clipped a tree. I hear foot stepps coming from my 2 ocloak they are getting louder as well. This thing knows I am panicking , I pump the gun to get another slug in the chamber I aim at the direction the noise was coming from.

Dead silence agian , this thing was fucking with me and it knew it. I slowly lean down for the camp site lamp and I switch it on , its really bright but the light dissipates to quickly for it to be of any use. I pick it up by its handle and launch it into the direction that noise came from. Thats when I see this fucker.

Part 3

It was at least 7 foot tall and it was hunched, It was hairy but it was scraggly and its face is just to fucked to describe. ITs eyes though , they were sunken and a disgusting black. I aim right at this cunt as it just stands there , it dosent even stand normally it just spazams around the place. Fuck this , fire a slug right at it , I hit it right in its centre of mass and it seemed to lose balance it wobbled while letting out this blood curdling squeal which I can only imagine an animal would make if you used a potato peeler on its genitals.

I pump the 12g and its moved I saw it dart to my right towards my truck , fuck off you are touching my way out , I make my way over slowly and make sure to not make much noise, I can tell when im close as the smell becomes intolerable. I know its close and I can hear movement, At this point im wondering how Im gonna get to the track and get in the truck and bail while that thing is there. Thats when I hatch a plan to unlock my truck , when i unlock it the lights go on for second so its easier to find. As I hit the buttion the doors unlock and the lights go on, I can see it just standing looking away from me at the car, I raise my gun and go to shoot but this thing must have either smelt me or had some 6th sense as it darted away to my left towards the camp. Maybe it was just heading to see if I was still back at the camp? Boy was I wrong , I edge out towards my truck and I hear something behind me, this fuck throws a rock and I mange to partialy block it with my arm but it hit me and knocked my over.

I am scrambling now to get up, this thing could be on top me and any secnond, I am ignoring the pain at this point. My life is more important than a hurt arm. I fire in all directions around. The noises being the only sound in this forest of newly created silence. I get am fumbling cartilages into the chamber as fast as I can while edging over to my truck.

The last thing I wanted was to be in a close quarters situation with this thing with an unloaded weapon that could have saved my life. I get in not giving a shit about the tent or the rest of my stuff. At this point I noticed that the camp light is gone. A just want to leave and at this point and I turn the engine over and begin to drive off , I knew from google maps the road and it would be a 10 minute route back the way I came (not that their was another one).

Thats when I see something that defies explanation, it was me standing on the side of the road. There was maybe 100 meters between us and I am not gonna that thing block my way. I keep one arm on the wheel and the gun rested against the dashboard pointing at this thing. The road has a straight section and I steer with my legs after slowing right down. I hit myself square in the fucking face with a slug and it is disintegrated. I hear anther scream and this thing darts off out of range of my headlights high beam. I just sped away and never went back for my stuff.

Well from all the stories I've read on them, guns seem to work just fine on them, but the problem is that they are very fast, stealthy, and they don't seem they feel pain in quite the same way we do. I don't thing I've seen to many stories that have a confirmed kill, but I'm guessing a good head shot would probably do it. I think I remember one story where the guy shot it and it turned to dust or something, and there's another one where they they lock it up inside a cabin and then burn the place down.
