Just finished watching it for the first time and I am thoroughly confused

Here's my ultra pleb analysis
First part of the movie: Christianity has failed
Second part of the movie: the search for a higher spirituality to take Christianity's place
End of the movie: Jodo tells the audience to stop looking for spiritual relvelations in movies, because they aren't going to find them there

i always think about the ending:
a) all spiritual revelations are shit and a lie and you just have to live real.
