The thrust of the thread was that there were supposedly these spirits from the Dreaming that were tormenting the town. The OP talked about them appearing at the edge of town at dusk and eventually invading the town.

The one crucial detail that would probably help pin the thread down, other than it being Australian, is that apparently someone in the town hired a medium to come, and she declared that the spirits were actually aliens.

And what was really interesting is that eventually the OP managed to produce a photo he, or someone else, had taken of one of the spirits. It was clearly taken on a flip phone, but it was impressive because these sorts of threads normally have no proof.
