No, they are the exact same thing, as Evil Dead was heavily inspired by Lovecraft and the Necronomicon used as both the main plot component and to tie it into the same universe. The book is only referenced in Lovecraft's original works, and the only appearances are copies/translations of the original, while the original itself is found by Ash Williams. This also subsequently ties other horror franchises into the same universe, with Freddy Kruger, Jason Voorhees, and (possibly) Charles "Chucky" Lee Ray all being a result of it's existence. Tangent aside, it's all fiction, c'mon guys.
