Can we get an /SCP/ thread going?

Talk about how the SCP Foundation universe is scary/fun/stupid

Is it possible that an organization like the SCP Foundation could exist?

I don't know, it made it more popular and a lot of casual Internet lurkers know about it now; but at the same time now a lot of kiddies think that the wiki is a fan project of the games

The openness of there being an SCP wiki would lead us to believe that it's all just for funsies. I suspect the novelty of it wears thin when it could be that whomever is turning the cranks of it all in the world is merely using the wiki as a means of tracking actual cryptids and objects too dangerous to allow them to remain at large. It could very well be that in the course of needing a cover, the best is in plain sight. In short, the authors of the articles are actually agents of an actual foundation, or freelance persons maintaining a very open secret presence about the obtaining and containing of otherwise interminably hazardous materials and/or beings/creatures/devices.

>Is it possible.
People have been theorizing this since Area 51 was around and then some, so I wouldn't doubt something like it exists. It's also the entire concept of the X-Files/MIB/any sci-fi tongue-in-cheek "the government is hiding alien shit in plain sight" type of thing.

Getting back on track, the exact nature of what, where and when is going to be more complicated. I wouldn't be surprised if A51 is just a landfill now since it attracted so much attention. It's obviously going to be somewhere else.

i havent read or played any scp stuff almost for a year now. my favorite scp was dream man, he just had two lines at the time i was playing it only played rarely, he was saying some things like "you need to wake up" and stuff before you wake up in game.

Favorite SCP level: Euclid

Most Terrifying: 1562

Favorite type: Don't really have any, just ones that manage to give me chills or stick in my mind after reading them are my favorite.

Seems like every time I read a discussion thread on that wiki I find some little crappy exchange between a person raising reasonable criticisms and some douche rudely smacking the person down because they didn't say things in whatever perfectly toothless manner is apparently called for by the site's rules, or derailing the conversation by telling the critic that their on-topic criticism was a derailing of the conversation. Seems like the SCP community has an overactive defense system that relies heavily on the users' lack of self-awareness.

If not for their caustic cliquishness I might want to write an article myself.
>>
>>18442906
> SCP-230 prefers to talk about things he considers "good" or "gay". SCP-230 has some psychological attachment to the word "gay". When asked to describe himself, SCP-230 used the word "gay" six times, "gaiety" four times, and the word "gayest" once when SCP-230 referred to himself as "the gayest man alive."

>>
>>18461737
A bit of hyperbole but indeed, cliqueyness is partly why I left. Judging from the range of stories in the new series, I feel like it might be less so now (just cause there seems to be more people in the community? Just a guess)
