I often lurk! Sometimes I post if I feel I can give meaningful input, but I don't author many threads, no.

I have posted threads like this a few times over the past few years, however! My only regret is that I lack the free time to do so more often.

If not, I don't really believe your love for me or anyone else is unconditional. Thats just something someone says to convince them selves they are an enlightened good person hippy.

But i have to admit i wish i felt real love from someone. My girlfriend says she loves me but i dont believe it anymore.

It is natural to desire love, and I am certain that you deserve to be loved. I would hope that your girlfriend does love you, but if she does not, I do hope that one day you find a fulfilling relationship with somebody who does.

How did you get this ability, is this a nature you were born with? Or did you learn to love all people? If learned, what teachings led you to this

I believe that I have always had a nature to love people, though I may not always have the wisdom to allow this nature to be emboldened within me.

I am not special, though: I believe the true and highest nature of all people is the ability to love unconditionally. To me, the key to being able to love strangers came in realizing that the source of being able to love unconditionally and the source of desiring unconditional love are one and the same. As far as the religious and metaphysical teachings I've come across in my day, I would say that the Orthodox Christian theology on the nature of man speaks the most to my experience.

She doesn't seem as into me as i am into her. Shes less affectionate, and really doesn't seem to be filled with a burning desire to be together, which i am. She says she is out of the "honeymoon period", but i am clearly stuck in it. Perhaps i'm just too clingy of a person.

We go 8+ hours without speaking during the day, during which i will message her things i find interesting, and ask her questions, and when she finally responds its often just something like "im so sleepy", no response to anything i had been saying.

Theres so many little things i could go on about, but really i just dont feel emotionally satisfied, and often i just feel alone. Maybe my definition of love is wrong.

Question for you OP, how didn't society destroy you? I used to love unconditionally and people took it as weakness and tore me to shreds, keep in mind i was very young. That changed me into polar opposite. Could you enlighten me on a way to come back to my real self.

From her actions towards you, it seems that it may just be her personality; I wouldn't lose all hope! While you're together, you always have the opportunity to find a spark. I am no expert on relationships, but here is my suggestion: first, give her some space for a few days. In the meantime, plan a surprise for her. It doesn't have to be anything big or extravagant, but do something that involves some thought and will keep things exciting.

There's also some harder advice in that, even if she doesn't love you anymore, there is still hope. If this relationship dies, you will still remain worthy of love, and you still have the pieces you need to be happy in a relationship perhaps more suited to the way you need to be loved.

I truly wish you the best in this. I myself have been through similar situations (and on particularly hard break-up), and I know the sort of toll romance can have on the heart.
