i've seen in my own family that diagnoses have become self fulfilling prophecies. everything becomes "what's the point, i have cancer." wallowing is the easy path. be strong and encourage your mom to be strong too.

OP I am so sorry to hear about your mom, it is so terrifying to have the most important woman in your life that you love so much have a chance to be taken away from this world, way too soon, way too young.

She has a very large pituitary gland tumor, it is benign, but has caused many bad problems, like pressing on her optic nerve and brain, if I understood correctly.
Her tumor is so large that it isn't safe for her to have it removed through her nose or a craniotomy. They told her she would have a 0% survival rate with surgery, so meds are the only route we can go. She has been taking them for over a year, and amazingly, her tumor had began to shrink.

However, as soon as we began to see some progress and improvement, the meds began giving her side effects -- like seemingly stopping her blood from clotting? The slightest bump or scratch will within minutes make blood continuously pour out, or pool under her skin, causing very large red bruises (sort of like pic related, but more widespread). Her doctors did blood work, and said it was worrisome -- enough that she would need to stop taking the medication immediately.
Of course, this also means her tumor will begin to grow again.

I guess what I'm trying to ask is, is there any hope for my mother? I don't want to lose her.
