this is so stupid it's almost clever

Mate, all that hassle and you broke even... May as well not have bothered, but a salt ring around the Earth seems like a cool idea.

lmao

Demon:
>Oh, a ring around the center of the planet, and *only* at the equator
>Darn it, now I'll have to go 10 miles out of the way to get in
>>18404326
No, we got a whole planet worth of fresh water now. 10/10 no one thirsts again
>>18404336
well until the population drinks it dry in 600 years or so.
>>18404552
Well the fact that we just launched pretty much all the worlds salt into space means we wont need to drink quite as much
>>18404110
So stupid it might actually work.
>>18404110
Wouldn't all salt water fish die in the process?

OP sits down to watch Supernatural while every living thing on earth dies of hyponatraemia (salt deficiency).
After all ANIMAL life on earth dies solar winds blow 50% of salt ring back onto planet, poisoning all soil and then which kills all PLANT life as well.
Demon laughs at human ingenuity.
>>18404941
So we was demons all along?
>>18404941
>salt deficiency
Do you really need that much salt to live?
Also we would probably find a way to make synthetic salt.
>>18405075
>Also we would probably find a way to make synthetic salt.
im not 100% but im pretty sure most table salt is already synthetic

come on guys, get your facts straight.
Salt mines exist, and are more than enough to support life.
The actual problem of having the ocean with no salt is that a shit ton o' fishes'll die, also coastal plants.
Salt can be made from other molecules, but that costs way more than mining.
Also, underwater salt mines would re-salt ocean in decades. Also you'd sink in ocean more easily because of lack o' salt.

All ocean life will die industries relying on sea life will collapse. We would probably be ok maybe I really don't know but yeah shit would all die.

But it didn't have Milhouse.

solar wind does not work that way.
it's force is applied equally in all directions with respect to the rotating reference frame of your orbit at different times.
the only thing that could bring the salt down would be interactions with the upper edge of the atmosphere.
that too would cease to be a significant effect if you launched to geosynk.
