USA has a shit ton of land. We don't need mass graves in one centralized area like some places in europe, so each dead baby could just get its own little grave in our relatively spacious cemeteries. Just go to an old american cemetery like in New England or something and you'll find a ton of little markers that just say "baby" "son" "daughter" or just have birth and death dates months apart. It's also important to note that the US hasn't been colonized as long as Europe and that it had a much smaller population in its first couple hundred years of western settlement, back when infant and child mortality rate was high.
