So, unless the zombies were talking about run on Return of the Living Dead rules, wouldn't stationing yourself in a graveyard for the Zombie Apocolypse be the most strategically sound locale?
It's an open area with driveways inside, lots of stone to quarry, a central locale and a vault filled with supplies and valuables, to be used as a panic room if needed when cleaned out. It's usually fenced already, which can be the foundation of stronger borders, and there's lots of land to grow crops in if the soil isn't infected. It's usually separate from civilization by a ways, but not so far as to go innawoods and be unconnected for good in case there's any hopes of retaking the city. And only tailing escorts will attract the zombies since noise, lights, smells, all would be downplayed in a cemetery.
Has any zombie fiction toyed with this idea?
Sounds stupid to me so it means you are stupid.

Just grab a bike, some tools, underwear, meds, a gun and hit the road.
Implying ground zero is like a lab or something and it spreads based on contact I guess it's not such A crazy idea.
Cant think of people holding out in a cemetery besides a level in left 4 dead, 28 days style rushing zombies so no where was safe for too long.
