as for not feeling your ascendent it's supposed to be dependent on other areas of your chart canceling it out

and there are things like aspects that change things as well, and shape your base personality/life which get more complicated and in deprh and might explain things

but i'll try to explain using the sun, moon, and rising to show you what i mean

my chart has a lot of aspects on my sun and moon (elsewhere too) which are meant to further illustrate my life and personality

so my virgo sun has 3 minor hard (tense) aspects (semi-squares and such with my moon, venus, and mars) one major hard aspect (square saturn) and 2 major beneficial (harmonious is another word used to describe these, there's other words for it i can't think of right now) aspects (sextile pluto and trine neptune)

and my moon has two major hard aspects (opposite venus, square mars), one minor hard aspect (to saturn) and 2 major beneficial ones (trine mercury and uranus)

someone reading my chart would read all of that, and then take into account pluto in my first house with libra (pluto is supposed to cause a magnetism affect, both attracting and repeling people) to give an actual reading based on those three signs

if you find your aspects (there's sites that will list them for you in with your chart to make it easier) you can do a more thorough reading of your chart

my behavior is different when i'm comfortable with people, in the sense that i'll tell them more and let my guard down, but i have an easy time with strangers and such too

people either find me charming and love me or they hate me (someone reading my chart would say that was pluto's influence in my first house and possibly on my sun), usually they like me, but when someone hates me it's passionate

but my libra ascendent doesn't seem out of place (i have libra in venus as well so it's in my chart twice) to me (laziness aside, though that's part of libra too, and can fit me to a point i'm lazy if i'm uninterested) in that way

so you might have social issues elsewhere in your chart that prevent you from fully expressing that aspect, prevent you from seeing it for yourself, or it might just manifest through other traits that libra has since the ascendent isn't just associated with one specific trait and neither is libra

these things are extremely detailed when you break them down even further, but if you're having trouble with something you might be lacking either the full picture (aspects and all) or perspective
