I was in the forests of Drake, NSW hunting with my enfield and a friend a year back. Check out the place on google maps it's nothing but thick forest for miles. It was in the middle of December in the middle of a humid summer.
It was nighttime, about 20 degrees and during a thunderstorm, rain pelting everywhere and thunder and lightning all over the place. Me and my mate heard a horrific scream that sounded half human/animal in between the thunderclaps.
Ended up parking the cars in a V shape and building a small log wall (1.5ft high) to cover the other side and took shifts looking out over the forest hearing screams every now and then from the same direction (yet it slightly shifted position and distance each time.) Threw out a couple of milsurp glowsticks every now and then to get a bit of better vision. Had the enfield loaded and with bayonet on the whole time (No4 Mk1)
This went on from 10pm till 5am and in the morning we found a slew of trees all with bark ripped off in the area we were looking at along with 2 dead feral dogs that looked freshly killed.
To date we have never gone back there. After doing some research we found there is an old gold mine in the direction we could hear it, one that's been shut down for over 50 years.
If any Aus /k/ommandos want to help on a second expedition to explore this mine/ the surrounding woods I'm more than willing to help assemble a team.

Don't have them here. Not officially, anyway. There are reports of wild cats being sighted all through the country, mainly in the Eastern States. Mountain folks say there are black panthers in the bush.
I hail from the way-south of Western Australia. I split my time from down Augusta up to Perth - and reside everywhere in between, depending on the season.
I have indeed heard a screaming sound exactly like in that video. I have other strange recordings taken that have ape-like hooting and a man-like voice saying "Wadjel" or something like that. Which is similar to the Aboriginal Noongar word for white man. I believe most of the Yowies people encounter are really just exiled feral people. In this case, Aborigines.
One thing I do know for a fact that we have down here, are living thylacines. Australia's South West is teeming with sightings. Cryptozoologists, you better come down here LOL.
