Fellow /x/philes, how do I get started with tarot? What books, etc do you recommend?
What about the cards?
Thanks in advance :)
Start with the traditional rider Waite deck. It is a great foundaton for branching to other decks.
I dont use anything but the rider Waite and the Aleister Crowley decks.
Start with the Waite though. It has the most literature. Both for free and for purchase and is a great start because almost all tarot readers use or have used it and can give you advice along the way.

Do the I ching instead. It's the GOAT divination system.
ALSO
I have learned over time that you can read about what each card means but as you do more and more readings certain cards will have a different meaning for you. For example when I do a reading for myself I have come to learn that the empress in my readings actually represents my girlfriend (soulmate). When I see it in others readings it can also suggest their soulmate.
Practice practice practice.
Read read read. Online. Books.
Look at the cards closely. Analyze them. Look at numbers in them, symbols and colors. All these things are very significant. Notice how you feel when you look at certain cards. Your gut feeling. Etc.
I started designing a set of my own, inspired by dark souls
The first card is king vendrick stumbling down a winding path away from drangleic castle and into a forest of leaning trees covered in knotholes, leaving heavy footprints behind him and clutching a thick lock of his own hair

Just remember that they are literal cards and have absolutely no paranormal properties. Unless of course, you're a gullible Facebook mom.
