Okay /x/, here goes. Recently, I've been coming close to astral projecting occasionally, but then my chest feels like it's swelling and I immediately panic, which stops it. I've tried everything from smoking weed to burning incense to doing meditation, but nothing seems to work. Is there anything else I might try?

you also already pointed out the problem - you feel panic when your heart chakra is trying to connect because you're afraid to leave your body (I'm guessing), so just work with it and become more aware and conscious of the feeling of panic you're experiencing (and try to find your own explanation for it) rather than trying to bury it or supres it
