Hi /x/ idk where to post this but iv just remembered some childhood memories
Idk about your experiences with horror movies but im 20 years old and growing up my brother loved horror movies so every now and then we would watch a flick
So from ages 8-17 iv seen all the horror movies out at the time
Anyway i never quite learned my lesson from watching horror, i wanted to be like my brother and not be a pussy
After watching a horror movie as a kid i would get severe anxiety before i knew what anxiety was
Example, watch nightmare on elm street one night as a 10 year old would, bedtime.. my brother will fall asleep in 5 minutes
Id stay up all night, heart racing scared as fuck, one night i couldn't sleep at all and stayed up the next day on a school night, ended up going to school
Half a sleep in class whole day
Was this a universal experience for others who watched horror as a kid? Why did my brother fall asleep and why did those movies effect me in that way?
Mind you this lasted until i was 17 years old, now i can comfortably watch them without being traumatized

same here anon, fear of the unknown can be a powerful thing, but once you see it for what it is it's kind of amusing
Ah, those cold sweats. Those were the times.
if you watch a horror movie with some funny music on it actually is not scary at all
