Well, I don't really think there is much you can do. The way the cards in regards to you offset each other is most certainly contradictory, as well as to the nature of your query. I suppose there is some sort of resolve in you that is well intentioned, but there is some blockage in regards to beginning something new, showing you care, staying firm on the issue. I don't really know how else to put it.

Another way I would look at it is that your patience could be wearing thin in regards to the situation. As for your friend, it seems that they are open to help from others, and this may certainly be a time where they'd need it. Felt a shivering pull down my hands as I tried to connect to you. Anyway….

What a strange sight that was. It was akin to one of those old paintings of how people perceived the world. Not a circle, but a flat surface, and around it spun a strange contraption, akin to a kaleidoscope of some kind. It was twisting and turning within this darkness, and upon the surface I could see small buildings, forests and I think a city as well. It was hard to approach, for I had to shift my perceptive, and upon closer inspection, I see that everything upon the surface was in some kind of a way reminding me of a chess board. The towns, the forests, they were all pieces. And I see them moving. A game? Hard to focus on it, it's constantly moving after all. I see someone trying to drive a large sword through the ground, for what purposes it's not really clear. A woman is standing nearby, saying that he's all good, and he slowly drives the sword into the ground, down to the hilt. Pulling it out was more difficult, for the entire blade was covered in sticky, pink goo. Disgruntled, he pulls out the sword completely and walks away, stepping onto the hole, and having the leg stuck in the hole, covered in the goo as well.

It's somewhat allegorical, but Eight of Wands is essentially strength within willpower and fire, energy, pushing forward at sudden speeds.
