I want to star researching UFOs. I'm a programmer so pretty decent with computers, I just need a jumping off point. What kind of equipment I'd need, and what kind of signals to look for etc. Does anyone know a good site or anything that will give me a good place to start?

if u are looking to find them go to the southwest or alaska. many theorists say this is where they are and this is where sightings are most common. get a standard telescope and a time lapse camera u can leve outside

If you are around OP I'm willing to help research this info with you. At least technology speaking of course. I'm aware of how the previous UFO technology worked for example, not something that many people understand and for good reason. Back in the roswell years and some years afterwards they were using a combination of technology both new and old. Here's the most common effects that earlier UFOs created. Electrical and magnetic interference, radiation spikes, quiet movements, large lights and the most common effect is cover ups by the government.
Here is where we can talk about what kind of technology was being used. Let's first take a look at how ions engines work.

Quite a simple video but what you are looking for is movements by electrical stimulation creating an ION thrust. Of course that is simply a very bare bones demonstration. Add real science behind it controlling thrust and you can create a triangular craft or circular craft, or any other shape as long as the thrust works. This engine is responsible for the seemingly quiet, swift movements and electrical issues that it creates beneath the craft.
Obviously the next step is powering the craft, Well it requires a small nuclear reactor. This supplies the required energy to lift itself above ground and provides extremely fast thrust. This accounts for the radiation left behind after touchdown. Of course you don't want people to figure out that the government is flying nuclear devices, especially during the cold war/nuclear scare.

I need an infrared camera. And talk to what you record.
