Good evening, /x/. Let's scare eachother something fierce.

What is the most chilling/disturbing/creepy story you've ever read on the Internet? I'm talking one that stuck with you for awhile, the kind that you remember late at night & pull your covers over yourself a little more tightly. It can be creepypasta, nosleep, greentext or anything else!

I'll start.

My grandma lived under the house:
https://reddit.com/r/nosleep/comments/48jjat/my_grandma_lived_under_the_house/

Feed the pig: https://reddit.com/r/nosleep/comments/4k55jx/feed_the_pig/

Stories From A 21st Century Mortician: Smiling Corpses & More:

That's the 4th installation in series, but it's the only one that genuinely creeped me out. The rest are good reads, too. But this one is definitely weird.

Actually, I'm just trying to start the thread off with some new stories that aren't posted every single time we have a topic like this. I don't know about you but I get tired of reading the same stories over & over. Reddit is pretty good for producing new, original scary stuff on a daily basis but thanks for being a cunt and contributing absolutely nothing else! You're excused.

I don't know about "most chilling/disturbing", etc.
But I really like the Candle Cove story, "Day of the Dead". I personally really like it, and throughout, the eerie feeling of the protagonist being watched is chilling.

Maybe I'm just old and dejected but there's a lot of cheesiness in some of these stories that I just can't get into, though I've only read a couple of the shorter ones for now. I miss the more blunt and weird "true" shit from years ago, the investigations, personal experiences, weird findings, etc. Regardless, pic related was a good read for me a couple of years back.

Hello Anon. I've seen and heard so many. Not all of them have come from 4Chan. Some of the oldest haunts come straight out of Poe's diary, false walls, swinging pendulums, asphyxiation from a premature burial and the depravity of alcoholism from those who have pets. You should go there first.

One of the most disturbing, first hand tales I've heard, comes from a prisoner who was given a 2 year sentence. His was a very public case, and the person in question was a socialite, very wealthy and despised by the Judge who handed him his sentence.

During his sentence, he shared his space with some quite famous individuals, however, it should be said, these were the types who nobody would really invite to dinner.

There was one particular inmate, disturbing as it is, and note that you have requested to hear this. This prisoner, John as we should refer to him, was sentenced to 8 years in prison for repeatedly molesting children, and it is the story of one child in particular which horrified even the prison guards themselves.

It's at this point, that I do not think you should be entertained by such story of this nature.

Good day to you, anon.

Sorry, missed this post when I was reading through.

Easily one of the most pretentious posts I've ever come across here. It was pretty clear I was asking for creepypasta, nosleep or greentext. I don't know why you think I was asking for creepy child molester stories but you're wrong. And even if I was, you're probably in the wrong place if you're this self righteous.

Honestly, if you're the type of person that comes to /x/, sees someone asking for disturbing creepypasta from anywhere on the net & immediately thinks "lol actual child molestation stories", you'll probably feel more comfy in the deep web.
>>
>>17912312
Man I forgot about nosleep. Thanks op.
>>
>>17915143
No specifics at the moment, but the realer the better. Blunt, to the point, no flowery language, at least somewhat believable. When people try to "write scary stories", it reads like fiction. When people try to piece together a simple event, it's written in a way everyone can understand and comes across as more atmospheric. That's why greentexts are generally best.

Again, I completely agree with you - I know you've said "no specifics" but what I'm asking is what stories have you read that met this criteria? Even if it's one that's posted a lot, what story do you feel fits that description?

For the most part, I wanted stories that are t common but that seems to be difficult to fulfill :/ so let's star over: What are some of the best?

Back around 2010-12 was sort of the golden age for these plausibly legit stories, though I don't think many of them got saved. /x/ had a much better userbase then. Now people show up and essentially want to RP and pass off clearly fictitious stories where they magically recall every shred of detail and every word and inflection from every conversation verbatim.

If I had a collection of some of the stories it seems we're both fond of, I'd dump them, but the computer I was using back during that time died last year and all my saved stories along with it.

These aren't so much creepy, but I still get chills from them.

There's the one nosleep series of the park ranger who would tell different tales from his job, usually included the stairs you weren't supposed to touch etc.

The other was also on nosleep, was this sort of realistic panic the OP was in that he couldn't reach anyone in his hometown or wherever, and the commentors played along with OP and one another, saying they couldn't get a hold of anyone in that area either.

My favourite theme from the SAR stories, besides the staircases, is the things in the forest who appear as humans with blurry faces (or no facial features at all), and who imitate sounds they've heard to pretend to be humans or something.

> First the faceless man, and now a guy whose face is too big. Looks like these creatures, whatever they are, have problems with rendering human face.

> Is it not possible they're gathering "information" about us? Like the ones with more victims are more complete, but not fully yet where they seem to understand emotion enough to make faces. Would explain the "blurry" guy and the hairy one. The black eyes too. The stag-like one simply didn't have human kills, rather maybe it was a new one that'd killed non-humans. It also explains why the less complete ones go for weak people likes kids. An adult would know not to trust a blurry person, but may be fooled by the one with the on/off face.

> So many stories of black-eyed people, wandering around the woods and calling out in the night, mimicking the sound of running water or a bobcat screaming. One man in particular goes to every news station he thinks will listen to him and tells the same story. He was deer hunting, had camped out in a very remote area, and woke up because something was scraping against his tent. He thought it was a raccoon or a fox until the thing pressed its face against the door of the tent, at which point he could very clearly make out a human nose and mouth. He kicked at it, but it leaped back and was gone by the time he opened the tent flap, gun at his side. He fired two warning shots, and when the sound had faded, he heard a snap behind him. A man was standing at the edge of the campsite. This man was not wearing any clothing, but he also didn't possess any kind of human flesh. As this hunter described it, the man was made of some kind of amalgamation of raw meat and hair. As if someone had scooped up roadkill and molded it into the vague shape of a man. The face was lumpy and only a rough approximation of a human face. The thing opened its lopsided mouth, and from it came the sound of the gun the hunter had fired. It did this twice before mimicking the sound of the tent zipper and fleeing into the night.

I wonder why these beings aren't more common on /x/. I think there's a lot of potential.

Holy shit why do those all suck so much ass? I mean the grandma one was alright until the ending where hoopy doopy we be spoopy wrote that the grandma imposter that my was still under the porch. It wouldn't have been scary without that very end, I'll give you that, but it would have been a little unsettling. That ending completely ruined the story. There's the probably Russian experiment of no sleep. They put a bunch of people into a sealed living space and pump a gas that prevents them from falling asleep.
The people start going aggressive, and they go quiet, and they whisper stuff into the microphones, and they try to plug the gas ducts with feces.
I don't know. I kind of have the sort of imagination that actually puts me inside the stories I read, and the whole scene was too much for me to handle. I stopped reading around the point a team was sent inside the facility to look at the results.
>>
>>17928317
i never understood if the insanity was caused by the gas or lack of sleep, the people in the story go insane after a few days, but the world record for not sleeping without stimulants is 11 days plus a few hours and the guy was fine.

I'm only curious whether the author intentionally left us wondering which of those 2 possibilities is the truth, or if they just didn't think of that.

It was a story i read in a creepy thread years ago.
Couple is driving a four door truck.
Long stretch of rode in desert
About to run out of gas and find old gas station along the stretch.
Pull up and both get out.
Guy goes inside to find clerk but he his not there.
Tell girl to wait for him so that he can find clerk.
Finds a door that leads to a basement of sorts.
Its filled with water but he hears what sounds like wimpering.
Sees a child in the corner crying.
Goes to child to ask if hes alright.
Child turns around devoid of facial features and starts howling.
He bolts back up ad slams the door.
Visibly shaken his g.f asks what happens.
He explains and shes now freaked out to.
While he was gone a black mass of evil was just there out of nowhere or something.
I think she filled up the tank before thiugh.
Anyway they get in the truck and keep passing by the same gas station and the entitiy is in their truck bed and they slowly await their immanent deaths

Went and double-checked, turns out I was wrong. The dj I was thinking of was a one-time record holder in 1959, who did go psychotic after his stunt; however, it ended up being a result of drugs doctors were making him take to keep him up. And it was a completely different bloke I was thinking of who died three years after a stunt like this

That's the whole point. You didn't get that after reading the whole freaking thing?

>sounds like
No. Is.

It's a fundamental difference in the sites. Here, you post as Anon, and the praise or condemnation only last as long as the thread does. Most of what goes on here is just dicking around. Creepypasta started out as writing practice.

Reddit works differently. You have a user name that's linked to your real identity. The submissions to nosleep are serious attempts at fiction. Not tentative works in progress, but finished publisher-ready short stories, at least as far as the authors are concerned. They consider themselves authors, that the only thing preventing them from being the next Stephen King is a lack of exposure.

Too bad that's not how things work. If you want to be good at something, you have to start out bad at it and improve. And since Reddit isn't good about honest feedback (Hugboxes! Hugboxes everywhere!), they're not going to get the practice they need to become professional quality.

I have a story I can share, it has to with the staircases that you can read about in https://reddit.com/r/nosleep/comments/3iex1h/im_a_search_and_rescue_officer_for_the_us_forest/. Also on phone so no green text.

I was out hiking alone a couple of years ago. I was going through a rough time and just wanted time alone to clear my head. The particular trail I chose seemed to have a shortcut to a campsite according to a map I was using.I was exhausted and being a noob hiker, I wasn't eating properly nor getting the sleep I needed. All I could think about was getting to this campsite. It was getting late, so I decided to go for the shortcut and went off the trail. After about an hour or so of hiking is when I saw it. A full set of stairs, literally in the middle of nowhere. There was no debris of a house or any sign that humanity had ever been here besides the staircase. It looked kinda old, but seemed to be in decent shape.
>>
>>17939305
It puzzled me at first, but I just said whatever and continued to walk towards it to proceed on the shortcut. The closer I got though, the more tension I felt. Its hard to describe, it felt like someone was watching me. As I approached the staircase, my sore legs overtook the urgency of getting to the campsite and I sat down, saying to myself it would only be a minute. I counted the steps, thirteen. I remember thinking about how I was bringing bad luck on myself. Things still felt off though. I could see shadows moving around me. I heard rustling sounds and could tell there was movement around me. I dismissed the shadows to sleep deprivation and the rustling to the wind and small wildlife. This is when things got strange though. The shadows began taking on the form of people, and the sounds turned to footsteps. I thought I was just freaking myself out and that I was just really tired. I got up to leave and felt a force stop me. I can't explain it. I stood there, knowing the sun was setting soon, but I couldn't walk. My body turned around and I was facing the staircase. I just stood there. Time felt like it was passing flying by. The sun was now setting and here I was just starting up this staircase. I sat back down in a haze. I wasn't sure what was going on. I knew I needed to leave or at least start making camp here, but something just kept me on that first step. It felt like it was only minutes after the sun set that it was full night time. There was a small amount of moonlight. I looked up the staircase and there it was. A dark figure was on the top step. It looked mainly human, but had weird disproportions. It's arms were skinny, and it's hands were large with long fingers. I remember feeling no fear at all though.
>>
>>17939322
All I remember is looking down and realizing that I was standing. In the moonlight, again before I even realized it, I had walked up to the sixth step. I stopped, and began hearing the whispers again. Something was...calling me...to the top step. The figure was still there, and it had its arms out and palms open, like it was welcoming me. I still felt absolutely no fear. I didn't really feel anything. I began walking up the steps again. Seven, eight, nine, and on the tenth step I heard a women's voice. It came from the bottom of the stairs. I realized who it belonged to, it was my mother. I heard my mother's voice, but only as a low whisper. I took another step and could feel the shadow figure in front of me, it's embrace waiting for me. My mother's voice became louder, and though I couldn't understand what she was saying, I heard a feeling of desperation and urgency in her voice, almost as if she was begging me to do something. I took another step forward onto the twelfth step and suddenly started to feel cold, very cold.
>>
>>17939329
he shadow figure was inches away from me, but my mother's voice was still calling for me, pleading with me to do something. I turned to look down the stairs for the first time, and it looked...warm. I can't really describe it, it looked like peacefulness, warmth, and familiarity were waiting for me down the stairs. I looked back to the figure on the final step in front of me, still suggesting that I walk up the thirteenth step and embrace it. But it looked cold, empty, and felt lonely. I don't why I felt those things. I stood there, and finally decided that I wanted to walk back down. As I took one step down, I felt my body go numb and nothing but black. Then I felt warmth. The sun had risen and I was laying near the bottom of the first step in the grass covered with dew. I figured I had fallen asleep. I recounted the events of what I assumed was a dream. I figured I had just ffallen asleep. I grabbed bag and went to continue on the hike. I turned and looked at the stair case again and something caught my eye. Suddenly, after a moment, my heart began racing and I felt sweat form on my back asy hairs stood on end. There were only twelve steps on the staircase. I counted again and again. I remembered vividly there being thirteen the previous night. I finished the hike and returned home.

I never told my mom or anyone about it. I'm still not really sure what happen, I just remember that night very vividly, what I felt, saw, and heard. I may of slept walk, had an out of body experience, I'm still not sure, but it still gives me chills when I think how close I was to walking off the staircase. I've always dealt with depression but it seems that my mother somehow, without even being there, talked me out of taking the final step. It may have been my subconscious kicking in, I still have no idea.

Definitely not real. Guy clearly doesn't know what he's talking about when putting O-rings onto the stumps of the amputated limbs. Also, he's pretty much an autistic dumbass. If you lived in Eastern Europe as a surgeon you could break most girls purely mentally, without having to cut off their limbs, remove their teeth, and consequentially destroy most of their appearance. Severe BDSM and mental breakage can actually be performed nearly consensually. Anyone who would go to this extent would most likely just tend towards direct murder and general extreme violence.

I think the only one I genuinely like is the Search and Rescue series. Although, the staircase thing does get kind of played out after a while.

For me it's reading eyewitness accounts of shadow people.

I don't do it anymore because it was making me a nerveracked mess.

Yeah, the stairs are kind of interesting at first but the whole "Nobody talks about it" thing is retarded. If you're going to try to play something like that off as real, how do you explain the fact that no one has ever taken a picture of them?
>>
>>17940476
tl;dr the author watched True Detective and wanted to copy it, so he replaced "Carcosa" with "Borrasca", which is a fabled place the senile elderly in the community rant about and has supernatural connotations, but in the end it's a secret sick rape/murder place where a long respected family does weird shit. I'm not even saying True Detective S1 was that good, but Borrasca is so derivative that it's distracting, it's like a shitty fanfiction.

Does anyone have that story where two dudes go camping in the woods with their dads and find a cabin where supposedly a skinwalker made its living and started to terrorize them as a result?

Definitions for paranormal vary, but most sources (Martial Webster, Dictionary.com etc) describe paranormal as "very strange and not able to be explained by what scientists know about nature and the world" or some variation thereof. A group of humans acting for profit is in no way unexplainable or unquantifiable. /X/ is a board for paranormal stuff. A couple murders and rapists is not paranormal in any way.

Some guy on /b/ told a story of a prison rape that was recorded on a cheap cellphone. The way he described it forever burned a hole into my brain. It was a chilling reminder of the cruelty of man and of the extent that men will go to satisfy their base desires. Idk if it was true, but it was horrifying.
>>
>>17941559
The problem with places like Reddit and the communities they have is that they seriously act like kids creating super serious "rules". You can seriously tell the average age group just from looking at the titles of threads they make.

>>17941574
Elaborate, not enough real life stuff on /x/ anymore.
>>
>>17941436
Ah, yes, my bad, I should have considered all the people who come to /X/ to read crime stories.
>>
>>17941603
Sarcasm doesn't change the truth, retard. Sorry you're so new that you're stuck in the days of Divination and Succubus generals on the catalog. People still hold plenty of unsolved mystery and creepy crime threads. It's children like you who took the supernatural too seriously that helped turn this place into the shithole it is now. /x/ was always about creepy. Deal with it. That's why it was made in the first place.

>/X/

You keep doing this, I'm not sure if you're actually retarded or failing to be ironic.
>>
>>17941579
There's actually been new subs created because of dumb shit like that. r/offmychest, which is a support sub essentially, would tell anyone who wasn't considered 'oppressed' to fuck off, which then led to the creation of r/trueoffmychest. Then r/me_irl, a shitposting sub, would ban anyone who said anything they considered 'sexist' or 'racist', which led to r/meirl. I mean, I'm all for equality and shit, but some subs like that act like stereotypical SJWs.
>>
>>17941611

>/X/

My phone does that automatically and I can't be bothered to go back and change it.

>X was always about creepy

This would be a valid point if the story in question was creepy. At all. It's not. It is, however, excessively long, misleading, and the most extraordinary thing in it is the main character's choices and attitudes. On top of that, it's borderline plagiarism. It's a shit story, buddy. Call me a Newfag all you want, it doesn't change that.

So let's review here.
Story is:
>Creepy
No
>Well written
No
>Original
No
>Paranormal
No.
>Possessing of ANY redeeming values
The dialogue was okay I guess.
>>
>>17941636
I was never talking about the story, I'm talking about your retarded assumption in >>17939586 that anything that's not supernatural doesn't belong on /x/, and so were you. Only now that you've been proven wrong are you going back to the story so you can have some sort of victory in this discussion irrelevant to the point at hand. You're a newfag.

Read all those^ stories, in some of them he talks about what happened to people who reached the top of stairs and what other officers say about the stairs
>>
>>17941653
I concede that I did say that poorly. Part of the reason I was so butthurt was because I'd stayed up till 4AM reading a terribly written bait and switch because those regards were talking it up like its the holy grail. And yeah, the post was stupid.

My more cogent thoughts could be summed up by more or less that post, but replace "supernatural" with "extraordinary".

Also, real talk here mate, you and I both know most people come here for paranormal stuff. Yes, the occasional realistic crime stuff might pop up, but you see way more of that stuff on /b/ than you do here, so don't act like it's weird looking for supernatural stuff on this board.
>>
>>17941685
>most people come here for paranormal stuff

Wasn't always like that, and that's not the point. It's also more than occasional. Investigations and weird findings online still very regularly happen here. It's always been like that. If Chanarchive were still alive I'd link you to the plethora of archived threads that dealt with real life creepy things including crime and other things. You can probably still find threads like this archived on 4plebs anyway, just in lower quality since /x/ is a corpse.

>so don't act like it's weird

Never did. People like you who call out anything not supernatural as not /x/ relevant killed this board and you shouldn't be surprised when people are pissed at you when you say stupid things that perpetuate the death and narrowing of this board's content.
>>
>>17941707
>Investigations and weird findings

Yeah... I wonder if those people didn't leave and go to /b/, because you see more if that over there than you see here.

>People like you who call out anything not supernatural
Like I said previously, I misspoke. Angry 4AM mind, remember? Replace "supernatural" with "extraordinary," Or at least interesting.

If by saying that I'm helping to kill the tales of normal real life crime, then good. At the very least I'd like to see some unusual motivations or something. I maintain: a story about a vanilla human perpetrating common crimes for average motivations does not belong here. If you want to see that stuff than watch the news, I'm sure you'll get your fill.

>My grandma lived under the house:
last line ruined it... should have been something like "as I saw her house shrink in the distance, I couldn't help feeling like I was being watched."
>>
>>17941749

And again, stop bringing up the fucking story when I've already established that that's not the issue and never was a part of my conversation with you. Misspost or not, the post was made regardless, and in my last post I responded to you wrongly saying that I "acted like it's weird" that people come here for supernatural material. If you didn't want to talk about that or your shitty suggestion that non-supernatural topics don't belong on /x/, you shouldn't have even replied. I'm not driving this thread further off topic with anymore posts about it. I'm responding to your incorrect assumption about the board, not whatever criticisms you have about that story.

>True coward. Parents later found the pee containers and punished me.
>One early night I was alone, my room was directly above kitchen

What annoys me are the people saying "This needs to be a mooviee!!!". I actually like a lot of those stories, including the ones you posted, but I only like them for what they are: short creepy stories. I honestly don't see any movie potential in most of them, which is why those redditors should take them for what they are.

"The Mexican narco trafficker Marciano Millan Vazquez was declared guilty of the 10 charges that he faced in the United States, among them various homicides and drug trafficking.

The ex member of Los Zetas will be sentenced this coming October, and he is looking at a life sentence.

Millan Vazquez is a ruthless killer, who in Piedras Negras prison, Coahuila, who with a machete, dismembered a young girl in front of her parents, he killed and "cooked" no less than a dozen victims, at the same time as attending mass on Sundays in San Antonio."

"Zetatijuana put the number of assassinations at 300 that he is responsible for, and they report that the female child was 6 years old, and was killed as part of a zeta purge."

“They were brought handcuffed behind
the back to the death house
where they found thirty-six bodies,”
he rolls on. “A T-shirt was soaked with
gasoline and put on their backs, lit,
and then after a while pulled from their
backs. The skin came off with it. Both
men made sounds like cattle being
killed. They were injected with a drug
so they would not lose consciousness.
Then they put alcohol on their testicles
and lit them. They jumped so
high—they were handcuffed and still
I never saw people jump so high.”
We are slipping now, all the
masks have fallen to the floor. The
veteran, the professional sicario, is
walking me through a key assignment
he completed.
“Their backs were like leather and
did not bleed. They put plastic bags
on their heads to smother them and
then revived them with alcohol under
their noses."

“All they ever said to us was, ‘We
will see you in hell.’
“This went on for three days. They
smelled terrible because of the burns.
They brought in a doctor to keep reviving
them. They wanted them to
live one more day. After a while they
defecated blood. They shoved broomsticks
up their asses.
“The second day a person came and
told them, ‘I warned you this was going
to happen.’
“They said, ‘Kill us.’
“The guys lived three days. The doctor
kept injecting them to keep them
alive and he had to work hard. Eventually
they died of the torture.
“They never asked God for help.
They just kept saying, ‘We will see you
in hell.’
“I buried them with their faces down
and poured on a whole lot of lime.”
He is excited. It is all back.
He can feel the shovel in
his hand."

I had a Mexican coworker a few years ago who would describe in a matter of fact way the reality of having to step over and around the corpses of those tortured, murdered and dumped down the street from his house.

If you want creepiness, it was in never knowing if he would be one of the dead someday for merely being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Reality is a motherfucker isn't it?
