I'm going to Roswell, NM this weekend! Have any of y'all been there before? Suggestions on things to do/see in the area besides the UFO museum?

I've always wanted to take a road trip there, and also to the outskirts of Area 51, staying at the Little A'Le'Inn, and going to Vegas. That would be the coolest road trip, I think. I haven't done it yet, but it's on my bucket list.

The yelp reviews are kek, people saying it's a third grader's science project. From what I can see in the photos of this place, it's just a room of bad models and photocopies of newspaper clippings.

Anything else in town?
>>17862306
Yup. Been there 2-3 times. Museum is framed newspaper clippings, only cool thing is a cast of some mayan statue with bullshit symbol interpretations. They have a shitty fake prop from The Day The Earth Stood Still and a cheesy giftshop. Look for a diner lookin place that sells cheesesteaks, it's bomb af, you'll know it when you see license plates on tge wall, or ask a local, that's how I found it, some pawnshop dude recommended it. Only good thing there.

Only other shit is tourist trap shops.
>>17861690
Yeah, the whole place is a joke honestly. Went there a few years ago. It's shit.
Glorified dollar store gift shops, a garbage museum, and fat sweaty tourists falling for every bit of it.

But the UFO festival is also this weekend? Surely something will be worthwhile!
>>17863913
Maybe, but I doubt it's anything special. Probably just a run-of-the-mill local festival with an alien theme.
That museum was dope as fuck though, everyone here is gay
