The problem with flat Earth shit is they tell us to use our senses to know what it true, but when we tell them we've observed evidence of a round Earth, they call us shills. Thus, they deserve to be deleted.

the big deal with net neutrality isn't really piracy per se, but with content provder wars.

Services like Hulu, Netflicks, Youtube, etc are competitors with old media cable providers, and are VERY good at competition (i.e. they offer on-demand programmnig for significantly less than traditional cable), such that they're seeing high adoption.

Well, the old dinosaurs don't want to lose their revenue, and since they're 9 times out of 10 ISPs in addition to being cable providers, they want to do shit like slow down traffic for streaming services so that people will buy their shitty 9000-channels-and-nothing-on packages again like it's the 90s.

Currently, net neutrality is law, so they can't legally do this, but they lobby for it constantly.

It's not really a conspiracy, though. It's literally just how things are in internet politics land...it's like saying democrats want to ban guns is a conspiracy -- well, no, it's just the status quo.
>>
>>17826707

>>blank fluoride stare

Gave me a chuckle. Thanks.

Also, recently where I live, they stopped putting fluoride in the water. Now whenever I go to the dentist, he tries to force fluoride treatment on me. Fuckin' weird.
>>
>>17826812
I think the issue is he started with "I hate Jews so I want the Holocaust to be fake". It's a terrible starting point for a rational argument.
>>
>>17826818

>>
>>17826830

>compromise their objectivity
Irrelevant, information is either factually accurate or not. A persons beliefs don't dictate information suddenly becoming fact based or not.
>>
>>17826844
And who is to determine the objective, fact based nature of this information?
>>
>>17826590
None.
Obviously.
>>
>>17826823

Fuck, that sucks. My ISP/TV provider probably wouldn't throttle though. They've never even put bandwidth caps. They offer internet speeds from dial-up to 1Gbit a second. It's an actual fiber optic network, so they probably don't lose from not capping/throttling, though they would if they started.
>>
>>17826846
I get the feeling you don't understand what "fact based" means. The "who" is irrelevant.
>>
>>17826844
Every single conspiracy theorist claims to operate on facts. That doesn't mean they do.
>>
>>17826824
>Now whenever I go to the dentist, he tries to force fluoride treatment on me

They do this for sales, not mind control...

and have you ever had a fluoride treatment before?

They use relatively concentrated fluoride and try to keep it in the little Styrofoam mouthpiece. They're actually really big on making damn sure you don't swallow it, because at the concentration they use, it'll cause pretty bad stomach discomfort.
>>
>>17826863

The shills don't need to directly influence flat Earth discussion. Other topics they do need to directly influence if they want to have effective control. For flat Earth, all they need to do is make the thread. The issue is so naturally polarized in human thought that just bringing it to people's attention will result in so much angst that some fool will look it up and start to believe it. Then, later, they make a thread about it because they genuinely don't know what to believe. The latest thread about it was exactly that: Someone who, from the previous flat Earth threads, hadn't seen a decent scientific anon explain why it's actually wrong. Every time we repel someone for being from a specific belief system through shitposting, we're actually making the problem worse.

This isn't a board that can benefit from incessant shitposting.

I actually made a flat earth discussion thread yesterday. It wasnt even aggressive it was just a simple scientific theoretical discussion and it was removed even though the thread was still alive.

I actually think something like this might be true. The flat earth theory is the most interesting and plausible conspiracy ive ever come across. I feel like it fills in all the gaps that the fake science astronomy made up. >>17826782
Im not a troll and I fully believe it. Im not retarded I consider myself very intelligent.

One of the keys to the flat earth theory is that you have to go back and see that the religions of the past were correct and that science was created to debunk their truths. Science has been the ultimate destroyer of all religions, possible for an agenda. The ancient egyptians, the chritians, the muslims and all of these religions have truer knowledge of the cosmos than science. Science is mostly made up to keep us from wondering what is out there.
>>
>>17828549
>plausible
Seriously? What?
>>
>>17828549
>Science is mostly made up to keep us from wondering what is out there.
Despite the fact that it is science that is about finding out what is out there?

Religion is close minded inherently, science is open minded inherently .
>>
>>17828553
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NruZ5vzRhQ4

Heres just one small example. This theory states that the sun is not as far as we were told it is. He uses pretty good evidence to support it. To me this is so plausible.
>>
>>17828565
If the sun was close to the earth there would be no life on the planet, it would be a scorched wasteland.
>>
>>17828549
People are extremely resistant to such a major idea because it would be a total upheaval of their world view.
>>
>>17828559
>Religion is close minded inherently, science is open minded inherently .

Its actually the opposite. The problem with science is that you cant question it. If you ever try to question science everybody argues with you. Ill agree that people will do the same with religion, but religion is meant to be about interpretation. Religion is always open to interpretation while science is always closed shut. In flat earth theory all of astronomy is made up. Therefore the sun is actually not what we think it is. The flat earth theory completely remodels our view of the universe and seeks to debunk all scientific "facts" that we currently accept as truth".

>>17828592
We describe it that way but once something is "proven" we are no longer able to question it. When we try to disprove science than we are ridiculed.
>>

Flat Earth is not plausible, it's nonsensical.
So many aspects of the world don't make sense with it.

>Day/night
>Sunrise/Sunset
>Seasons
>Gravity
>Tides
>Circumnavigation
etc

All these make sense on a round planet, but not a flat one.

Not to mention why would Earth be the only flat world while all other planets and stars are round?

See thats the whole point we dont really know. How can you say that you know? Just because science says so. Well the whole point of this is to question science, we have to have a competing science. Why should you believe something without first proving it to yourself. Its most intelligent to have a competing belief.

I made two different points so let me explain.

First, if they were saying that they can't stay secret because people on the outside would figure it out, he's right. People do suspect and talk about it all the time but we can't do anything about it.

If he saying they can't stay secret because people on the inside would spill the secret, he's probably wrong, because anyone involved who would have any useful knowledge/evidence is heavily invested in keeping the secret for their own best interests.

Either way, it's possible for global conspiracies to exist.

Trump and Clinton are both plants. Clinton will do what They want, and Trump is the obvious foil to ensure her election.

It was obvious by the way the media focused on the pair of them since the very beginning of the primaries. It was clear that They wanted it to come to this by how the focus was always on those two.

I'm still trying to determine if Bernie Sanders is the spanner in the works, or the endgame. If the endgame, it's been a long game indeed. If a spanner (which makes sense by how Clinton shifted her focus during the Primaries), I fear for his safety.

And I'm not even one of those weird "Clinton is a criminal, Bernie or Bust!" nutters, either. I'm just really uncomfortable with how the news has covered this shit.

I'm suspicious but I have a slightly different take on it. I believe Trump was enlisted by the Clintons (who represents the establishment, like you said) to make the republicans look ridiculous, at first. When he started gaining momentum they ran with it to keep Bernie from getting too much attention. People were obsessed with the republican primary and although Bernie slowly gained a lot of support, his biggest problem was not getting enough exposure early on in the campaign while Donald's antics were covered extensively every evening, leaving little time for anything that mattered in their campaign coverage (i.e. policy, which Bernie beats Hilary on for the average liberal voter).

Regardless, I agree that the campaign coverage has been frightening in how obvious the manipulation has become. How do people not see this?

I fucking hate Trump but even I'm disgusted by how ridiculously biased the coverage is. He's not insane and they try to push that narrative constantly. It makes me extremely suspicious of the liberal agenda though I'm a liberal myself. It's upsetting to see that there is no real choice because people are just emotionally manipulated and everything is substance-less proclamations of Hilary's superiority. I do believe she's a terrible person who will maintain the poisonous status quo and they're making her out to be the good guy. People are jumping on board as fast as they can.

I don't trust Bernie totally (how can you trust a politician in this day and age) but I've not come across anything that makes me doubt his sincerity so far. Doesn't really matter though, because he's kind of doomed. Too many rich people want Hil in there for her to lose.

All of this PC stuff was a big part of it, too. They set up the PC/anti-PC animosity for the last few years. And now Hilary is the queen of PC and Trump is the king of anti-PC. Doesn't seem like an accident. Funny thing is, none of that shit has much to do with running a country.

Nah. They're just puppets. But I'm with you on everything else.

Though I'm not sure if it's just the coverage that is pushing the narrative of Trump's insanity. He's really playing this shit up hard.

Then again, he's had experience in playing shit up for the gullible masses.

But you're right, none of that shit has anything to do with running a country. What scares me is... Clinton will at least be more capable of Trump. And I may even consider myself a bit played as well, because I'd certainly prefer her over him.

(And I'm pretty sure Sanders still has is Senate seat for another two years before re-election, if he doesn't end up president. Which means we still have him fighting in Congress.)

The conspiracy i believe in is that early israeli inhabitants used american jews to sue germany using real estate and hospitality laws. In order to start off an investment account for Israel. And that for a time those laws were honored in us real estate and well applied in apartment rentals. Which is why some worried people still rent out as hostels. making it much easier to sue for real estate. Which was one of the events that lead to the fall of the Wtc. That microchips are being given out and if you are a recipient you see peoples skin emit a yellow light and from there their names change. Because some laws used hindered opportunity and security for any sovereign state. So all countries are being recreated as of today.

That the nordic pop culture phenomenon, the vampire and the law let the right one in, has origins in the post ww2 era. Where you couldve been sued if you let the wrong one in, by invite. Since laws made it legal for people to sue for real estate under the hospitality laws. Just for having invited people in. So modern culture trend is to never show up to someones house uninvited unless you're family and they know you well. The prussian and nordic areas were hit hard. So much it became a pop culture thing...

The strawman argument changed which is quite ironic because in definition it implies just that. And here is the reason.
Historically strawman was said to be a game where the person that pulls the smallest straw gets all blame. In modern day meaning strawman is more like a 'scarecrow-esque' decoy so as to coax something by imposition of a fallacy.

Edward Snowden never actually stopped working for the NSA. His role was imagined to provide a chilling effect («yes, it's true. The gvt spies on you all. Be sure not to rock the boat») on the press and making security agencies whistleblowers fear speaking with journalists at all. It was a response to the attention garnered by Julian Assange and the Wikileaks organisation. It also has the added benefit of making potential whistleblowers more willing to leak to tightly controlled publications with vetted editors in chief (the snowden leaks were first published in the Guardian).

The relatively tame character assassination on Snowden and the very harsh one on Assange really contrast.

[3] And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
[4] And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
[5] And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
[6] And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
[7] And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

[7] And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
[8] And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
[9] And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
[10] And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
[11] And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
[12] Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
[13] And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
[14] And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
[15] And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
[16] And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
[17] And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

We talk about the shit on /x/, they have watered down forms of it in the media, Dan Brown shit, top-notch literary novels on it by Thomas Pynchon, Umberto Eco, and Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea, and so on and so forth. You can find shittonnes of shit on it on the internet. They are slowly revealing themselves, they are allowing themselves to be revealed, they don't care by this point what we find out, because they know the majority of people are too narrowminded to accept it and the people who do accept it are too powerless to do anything. Add that with the fact that there's a great steaming dose of disinfo in a lot of their portrayals, and they have nothing to worry about. They can sit content, gradually allowing more and more of them to come out in the media till the people won't be surprised when they reveal themselves as what they really are and take over.

I've got a personal theory, and some others might share it, that all of the flat-earth posts are made by one individual, a "samefag" if you will. My evidence for this is that almost all of the posts, in every thread where the subject comes up, share the same tone, structure, and word choices. The "samefag" also constantly posts the same YouTube videos every time. It's almost like the flat earther is actually just someone shilling their shoddy YouTube channel. A "shitposter" if you prefer.

Eh, I just can't abide by that. I don't really believe in any conspiracy theories, but I won't deny that there will always be humans looking to take advantage of the masses, singularly or in a group. Likewise, there will every so often be someone who wants to honestly protect groups of people as a whole. I also believe there is almost no one who wants to protect all humans. Everyone has an enemy "group" that they identify in their attempt to make humanity stronger as a whole, and whether they need to be silenced forcefully or politically is always the main topic for that said group. If human lives were so insignificant, we wouldn't have such an impact on the world both environmentally or politically. It took only a few men on 2001 to drastically change the world, it took one man to spark WWI, and it took one soldier from that war to unite a country under a banner to militarily use his nation's anger to seek retribution. Small groups have hunted species to extinction, while other men completely redefined how peaceful protests and civil disobedience were practiced.

So to sit there and act like humans are some meaningless blip on the radar is extremely naive. That drive to fight "evil" whether it's a product of the times, or something truly wrong, is an instinct humans have had to drive us to be better. To drive us to remove what we deem as unacceptable and perfect ourselves as a whole.

The people who have made those changes and efforts all started off as the same thing. A human, who lead a short, boring, and insignificant life. The reason why we find it so interesting is BECAUSE they made up their own story. Not out of ignorance, but out of determination to not go gentle into that good night.

Things like Operation Northwoods and MKUltra and The Gulf of Tonkin incident(s) are verified, not only by hard evidence but by admission of the government, but people waste time focusing on exaggerated claims similar to, or related to, these; "Project Monarch", for instance, the satanic abuse Illuminati CIA-sanctioned kidnapping and torturing of thousands of children and celebrities to make mind-controlled slaves (as part of MKUltra, naturally) -- and all of this stemming from the testimony of Cathy O'Brien and her book, Trance Formation of America. While these folks are busy invested in creating and sharing so-called 'evidence' for 9/11 and Sandy Hook being inside jobs (in some cases, causing continuing torture and grief to the victims and aid-workers), many real government abuses continue - Guantanamo and so many foreign entanglements with false pretenses, the NSA spying, etc. It's a shame because these are the people most likely to investigate these and find similar immoral and illegal actions, and they're busy being angry at NASA for faking the moon landing.

I even thought of all the recent police brutality cases, cops shooting unarmed civilians, a lack of transparency as to police operations and internal investigations, the fact that DA's and police work hand-in-hand to put away criminals and yet when a cop is the criminal, it's the same DA they've worked with for years that is tasked to build a case against them, all sorts of 'dirty' police work... but it was a paranoid guy found to have committed suicide that has /x/ and many others across the nation up in arms (on the internet, anyway).

Remedies having adverse effects is an absolutely common thing. That's why drug development is such a bitch, because it needs to pass many tests to prove it is reasonably safe. But even then there are people who will be affected by adverse effects.

I didn't mean Pharmacology is too hard for the doctors, but here is the deal: The difference between remedy and poison is the dose. Anything can be bad for you. Hell, drink too much water and you'll get water poisoning.

So, drug development consist in finding out if a certain chemical works well against a certain disease without fucking up too much the host's organism, with as little side effect as possible. Finding the balance between the effective dose against the disease (Higher = better) and the dose that will produce the least side effects (lower = better) is key.

But, every person responds differently. Maybe for me, 20mg of the drug will cure my disease, but for you, it won't, because our organisms are different. That's why adverse drug effects end up killing people - some people just respond worse to the drug and develop more side effects than the average population.

Unfortunately, shit happens, but we still need to be able tot reat diseases, and they work for the majority of the population.

>The system is obviously corrupt and broken, if you can't admit that you are in another world

That depends.

There is corruption, OBVIOUSLY. Studies sponsored by the cigar industry in the 60s are a classical example. Fraud is obviously still an issue. And doctors who are in the pocket of the pharmaceutical industries, being stimulated to prescript as many drugs as possible, are a serious and real issue. But they are not the totality and not even the majority. And fiscalization in science has improved a lot.
the rest of us are doing what we can, but humans are not perfect. IF we had the perfect cure for every disease it would be aqwesome, but we won't and we never will because shit is more complicated than you think.

>The difference between remedy and poison is the dose.
Thats implying that your drug that you maufactured in a lab is a "remedy" and is totally good for you.

Dosage is not really an argument you can fall back on because these recalls happen en mass. Pradaxa, Zoloft, all of those wierd drugs come with a shit ton of side effects, suicide and fatal heart bleeding being some of them.

>
So, drug development consist in finding out if a certain chemical works well against a certain disease without fucking up too much the host's organism, with as little side effect as possible. Finding the balance between the effective dose against the disease (Higher = better) and the dose that will produce the least side effects (lower = better) is key.

Its not just about finding a balance between effective dosages. Cost and profit are huge motives. They are not looking for the best drug with little side effects they are looking for the most profitable drug, because pharmacology is a multi billion dollar industry. If you think certain treatments or cures haven't been suppressed for profit you are delusional.

> Studies sponsored by the cigar industry in the 60s are a classical example.

You don't need to go back to the 60s to prove theres courruption in the pharmacology industry. You can go and look at them openly admitting that they are putting drugs in the drinking water to "help with suicides"
>>

You're too dumb to "work in science" even if it's corrupt.

yeah, because you haven't done any research and are just talking out of your ass regarding things you know nothing about. terrible human being.

>He says, while providing zero sources.

Again, I'm not denying science is corruptible, but the number of legit scientists far outnumber the fraudulent ones.

>>17837433
>Thats implying that your drug that you maufactured in a lab is a "remedy" and is totally good for you.

Remedies are sold to cure diseases, so yeah. They wouldn't profit if they were straight-up poison.

>Dosage is not really an argument you can fall back on because these recalls happen en mass. Pradaxa, Zoloft, all of those wierd drugs come with a shit ton of side effects, suicide and fatal heart bleeding being some of them.

They are not nearly as common as you're trying to paint them as being.

Again: There is NO substance that you can put in your body that won't do any effect (at least not any drug - their entire purpose is making an effect). And, sometimes, thanks to the way our body is made, something that has an desirable effect also have side effects.

THIS IS NORMAL. These drugs are used because there is a lack of alternatives and they were proven safe enough for the general population. Of course, sometimes there safety tests fails and this, too, is normal, considering we're all humans capable of failing.

>Its not just about finding a balance between effective dosages. Cost and profit are huge motives. They are not looking for the best drug with little side effects they are looking for the most profitable drug, because pharmacology is a multi billion dollar industry.

You1re absolutely right on that, many treatments are overlooked because they are not lucrative enough.

Unbelievable and frightening that they would even consider this. Can't they just let us be?
>>
>>17837463
>Again, I'm not denying science is corruptible, but the number of legit scientists far outnumber the fraudulent ones.
That's the problem. It's legitimate scientists who are being funded by corporations. They don't have to fake the research, just manipulate the studies to APPEAR to support what they need them to support.

And I'm not going to provide sources so you can explain them away. You're an apologist for the system. If you want to be educated, educate yourself.
>>
>>17837463
>Remedies are sold to cure diseases

Wrong, there is no such thing as the word cure in the industry. Everything is treatment. They will call you a quack if you use the word cure even once.

>They are not nearly as common as you're trying to paint them as being.

I see them on the TV all the time. Lawyers saying you can get compensation and the recall commercials are on all the time.

>THIS IS NORMAL

No, fatal heart bleeding is not normal, no suicidal thoughts are not normal.

>These drugs are used because there is a lack of alternatives

Is it really a lack of alternatives? You have the suppressed alternatives because of lack of profit and you have things such as traditional chinese medicine. Is there REALLY a lack of alternatives? Maybe there is a lack of profitable alternatives.

Because it's cheaper to kill them than it is to pay their 40 years of benefits post-retirement.

Government medicine / insurance companies / etc. have zero incentive to keep you alive once you're old.

It won't be long before the 'retirement' age exceeds life expectancy at birth and your years of mandatory retirement fees go to nothing but slush fund projects.

I had written a full post, hit esc by accident and lost everything, so I'll be more concise this time:

>If you think certain treatments or cures haven't been suppressed for profit you are delusional.

Supressed? No. They just end up not being developed, or being developed by Non-profit organizations (Search up Vasagel for example. It's a masculine contraceptive method that's reversible, but it's not very lucrative, so no developer wanted to pick it up. A non-profit organization did and it's close to start human trials).

You could say that potential drugs being overlooked for not being financially interesting is fucked up, and you'd be right! But that's how capitalism works. It's not science's fault.

The notion that Big Pharma is killing scientists at the verge of breakthroughs, however, is ludicrous. If a potential drug appears and it could be financially viable, it will be picked up by one of the enterprises ASAP.

>>17837485
>No I'm not going to source my delusions, fuck off.

Anon:

1 - Go read about Peer Review. No research is published before a completely independent scientists reading your paper and criticizing everything that can be criticized about it.

2 - Basic research (Which is the science that goes and says "Hey, eating fast-food can fuck up your health") is mostly public funded worldwide, exactly BECAUSE it's not immediately applicable and therefore not financially interesting for the market.

Again: The shit you've pointed here is already known by scientists.

This discussion started with "WHY ARE THEY NOT TELLING US TO IMPROVE OUR DIET????" when, well, THEY ARE. And always have been.

Yeah like when they completely shilled for the dairy industry

>that's how capitalism works.

No thats how a plutocracy works. Everyone that has a potential cure or non mainstream treatment is treated like they are a quack and don't say this hasn't happened and don't say their industry has never been threatened because thats stupid to say so.

Thats like saying the oil industry has never been threatened by free technology

Profitable marketable treatments =/= the best available treatment
>>
>>17837510
It's not delusion, it's fact. And you wonder why I didn't bother. You are unbelievably ignorant for a "scientist". Or just dumb.

Lemme guess, science is the best thing to ever happen on the planet and they've never advised incorrectly or irresponsibly and then quietly said OOPS after the damage has been done?
